Just turn around go back towards the grace and use the teleporter.Is there somewhere to open the gate or you have to do it in the story?

Yeah, I did beat Rennala and actually met Ranni but didn't do her quests yet.

I don't know why that teleporter isn't active, but you don't need it to get into the castle. And you don't have to do anything with Ranni. I didn't do her shyt til after I beat Radahn.
Hmmm thats weird. Try resting at a grave then going back if not try starting the Ranni questCannot be used
