Sparky did the okey doke crossover in front of her foot, which saved his life. Catset would have started yanking on the leash as soon as the gator started approaching.

Never understood the killing the animal thing. That's an alligator who do what alligators do. He sees meat he grabs it (pause). That's for the people to be careful and don't hang out where alligators live
Originally he was going after the dog, but since he got that old lady, it may have caused him to start viewing humans as viable food. It's Florida, the alligators live in the same places humans do.
