Thats if you realllly want to cut down on emissions. There is no logical reason not to go this route for these types of jobs. NON. the reasons given are more Feelings based than they are evidence based.

you have management afraid they will lose control if they cant SEE you in a chair in the office. you have some worker types that dont do real work but they are great at perception and making people believe they are doing good work. so without having all that facetime they will no longer shine since they can't produce any actual tangibles to their company.

I'm not sure about WFH the full 5 days a week as you may lose the ability to build working relationships with co workers which can impede getting shyt done when you need help with things also certain facilities ain't always there at home.
Friday's at the minimum should be a WFH day though since most people ain't doing shyt but admin work at the end of the week:ehh:.

Nah everybody should just be working less hours

9 to 5 [which nowadays is really 8 to 5 now due to unpaid lunch hour] is outdated and everybody knows it.

I agree. Condense the actual work day to a 4 hour block that falls within the 9-5 window that you can work in person and let the other hours be remote.

The reason we cant work from home RIGHT NOW is "we cant effectively monitor staff when you work from home" lol. That shows your management skills opposed to our work ethic. We literally do everything electronically, there is no reason for me to come in this office outside of, they want to watch us work. I 100% agree with this.

there are some industries like Fintech where you open a can of works with PCI compliance. Like someone could have sensitive customer data just chilling around their house.

Thats true. Work less hours, and work from hone should be the ultimate solution.

Traffic is,getting worse,at rush hour andnit is breaking down infrastructure.

Last year there was a blizzard/bitter cold spell and they equipped everyone's work laptop with a bunch of software for us to work remotely from home and still be secured. They wanted us to remain productive since we couldnt make it to the office but wont extend this perk to us as a normal business practice. As a matter of fact, it was floated for like 2-3 days from home and other days in the office and it was still "we cant effectively monitor productivity" its all micro managing.

I`m referring to documentation that can potentially be around your crib. Offices have security measures where anyone who enters a building is accounted for, thus if anything happens they have record of everyone who was in a building and can check for date/time stamps too. At home you can't really do that. No in theory you can put in place mechanisms that disable the ability to print things when you aren't on the office network, but there is still risk such as leaving your computer unlocked and any ol body being in your crib being able to see what you are doing. Depending on the industry this can be a big no no.
