I`m referring to documentation that can potentially be around your crib. Offices have security measures where anyone who enters a building is accounted for, thus if anything happens they have record of everyone who was in a building and can check for date/time stamps too. At home you can't really do that. No in theory you can put in place mechanisms that disable the ability to print things when you aren't on the office network, but there is still risk such as leaving your computer unlocked and any ol body being in your crib being able to see what you are doing. Depending on the industry this can be a big no no.

Man when you access ANYTHING on our company’s system you have to sign in through 2Factor VPN. They can and do monitor every second we are accessing anything company related. People who work remotely at time when they are traveling ect have to clock in through our universal time clock. They know everything everyone is doing workwise. Its 2020. They know everything

and there's the other problem. because you dont want to go home to your family, we all have to suffer. terrible. real selfish thinking. and thats actually how people think. they have said as much" i dont want to work from home. so why should you be able to?" Like wait. why you hating on me? you want to run away from home for 8 hrs a day. thats on you. you made the choice to have kids. thats on you. you made the choice to marry a person you dont like. thats wasnt my choice.

And companies that offer WFH its optional. If you want to go to the office and work be my guest :hubie:

  • Two-thirds of managers who offer telecommuting flexibility report that employees who work from home are overall more productive.

  • Employers offering at least part-time telecommuting flexibility collectively save $44 billion each year.
  • Employers offering work from home flexibility lost fewer employees.
Working from home statistics suggest that companies who offer a telecommuting option for employees have lower turnover rates.

In a Stanford University study, employers who offered a work from home option had employee turnover rates fall by over 50%.
  • Telecommuting employees are less stressed.
The stress of working in a traditional office can be removed by working from home.

Work from home statistics show that 82% of telecommuters reported lower stress levels.

And less stress comes with happier, more engaged employees, data shows.

80% of telecommuters report a higher morale, and 69% of telecommuters reported lower absenteeism.

Full-time telecommuters save over $4,000 each year.
Unsurprisingly, those who don’t commute into an office every day save money.

Full-time telecommuters save more than $4,000 each year by spending less on a variety of costs: commuting costs (gas, public transit passes, tolls, parking, car upkeep, and so on), food costs (buying coffee and lunches out of the office), tax breaks, and professional clothing upkeep.

Full-time telecommuters also save time by not commuting every day, as the average full-time telecommuter gains back the equivalent of 11 work days every year.

good point but if someone wants to walk off with a client list or whatever they'll find a way to do it

Should be the norm, but these greedy capitalists refuse to evolve with the times. 2020, and people still think that managers deserve to violate their basic rights? :mjtf:

Working from home :ahh:

Someone needs to holla at me get on Skype/Slack/send an email.

I go in once in a blue for meetings but my productivity is so much higher because I'm not worried about office gossip, where I'm going for lunch, or what traffic is looking like etc.

I agree that most white collar jobs should be given the freedom to be done remotely, cuts down on real estate occupied by businesses, takes cars off the road - less traffic and emissions, gives us time back to spend with our family, on hobbies, exercise or binging tv :lolbron:

I work remotely and I do get a little stir crazy from time to time, but the flexibility of where to work from is unparalleled

I'm not sure about WFH the full 5 days a week as you may lose the ability to build working relationships with co workers which can impede getting shyt done when you need help with things also certain facilities ain't always there at home.
Friday's at the minimum should be a WFH day though since most people ain't doing shyt but admin work at the end of the week:ehh:.

:scust: 4-10s fukk anything about a Friday

I have the ability to work from home a couple times a week, but I actually like going into the office since I work in midtown Atlanta. Plus all the sexy ladies I get to see everyday walking around midtown :shaq:

My sister was just telling me how her company is ran by some old fart who doesn't believe in working remote.

Once more millennials are in higher level positions i think we will see a massive shift. Not having to fight traffic everyday is a godsend
