Fit the team? What exactly is the team. Yall finished the season with a d-league roster. The fukk is the identity?

They aren't even trying to improve the team part of me believes that they only picked Embiid because he was hurt and I wouldn't be shocked if they set him the whole season.

That's true but y'all didn't even attempt to improve though...and than are volunteering to be dumping grounds for bad contracts..like what establishes players have y'all even bought in to be even interviewed by the team?
It's not our time to compete yet, this is year 2 of our rebuild :mindblown:

Right now it's about acquiring assets, developing and acessing what we have on our roster, after we do that then we can start to use FA to add players incrementally who fit what we are building

Identities are for teams trying to win stuff. We're not interested in that.

They run a lot and try to generate as many possessions as possible, which is kinda genius because it gives the young guys chances to show and prove while at the same time increasing the team's chances of losing. Hinkie and Brown are THORO about this tanking shyt.the opponen

What you guys don't get is that they tried that whole trying to compete nonsense for 7-8 years before Hinkie arrived. The result was a few very good players, a bunch of bad contracts, and only one playoff series win (in which the opponent was missing their three best players by the end). In 2 years of the new stuff we've acquired the Rookie of the year and possibly the most exciting talent to come along in this town since Iverson.

Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid are our frontcourt of the future where does an overrated Greg Monroe who we'll have to overpay to get fit here. :comeon:

We have the rookie of the year PG in Michael Carter Williams where does Eric Bledsoe who we'll also have to overpay for fit? :beli:

If ya'll nikkas gonna throw out people at least make sure they make sense. :wtf: Now if ya'll said we should sign Klay Thompson next year to fill a need with at SG next yr then I could understand :dahell:

So with that being said is it an issue if they reform the lottery process and instead of getting a top 4 pick y'all get an 11-14 pick?

Tanking is a fukking crap shoot. Sometimes based on injuries, or maybe your market is just not a FA destination, you see it as the only way, but if the Spurs get the 2nd pick in '98, we wouldn't give a fukk about them.

We're trying to improve. It's just a more abstract way of doing it

god forbid

Not to me personally, the pieces are already in place for us with MCW-Noel and Embiid. If they all reach their potential we will be a lock as far as being a contender for the future as long as we get some wing scorers/shooters which ain't that hard to find. :manny:

1. The Celtics very much got their title with the help of tanking. Even though they ended up with the worst possible pick after finishing 2nd worst in the league in 2006, they flipped that 5th pick (and chaff) for Ray Allen and the pick that became Glen Davis.

2. More often than not, teams suck at tanking because no matter how many high picks they acquire, they can't overcome poor management who just end up drafting poorly. See the Kings for the last 5-7 years or the TWolves with David Kahn.

1. no. the Celtics won the title because Kevin McHale gift wrapped KG for em. when i think about tanking payin off, i wouldn't think flipping the 5th pick for Ray Allen would be it.

2. and that is why tanking is a stupid idea. the draft is such an inexact science. there are always top picks that bust (Beasley, MKG) and later picks that become stars (Lillard). unless your GM is RC Buford or Sam Presti, its pretty much up to luck. there are only so many can't miss LeBron James or Kevin Durant's coming each decade.

KG was important, but they don't win the title without Allen. That's indisputable.

2. Sixers fans are all in on this tank purely because they feel they have the next Presti/Buford in Sam Hinkie. He's done a great job so far.

no shyt. but KG was the kingmaker. he was the one that made that a championship team. with allen they were just gonna be good. KG took it to another level.

which is why i said that ring was determined by a trade that had nothing to do with tanking. ya'll didn't flip the #5 pick for KG. if that happened, then maybe that woulda been a ring gotten by tanking. but it wasn't. it was a ring that resulted from an inside deal between boys (Ainge/McHale).

Whatever nikka! :sas1:
If a team has 0 flexibility, mediocre talent, & can't get over the hump, I don't see a problem with tearing it down & rebuilding. Yall talk that shyt like there are superstar FAs dying to come to the PHIs, MILs, or ORLs.. of the world.

$30 plus mil in cap room isn't 0 flexibility. :heh: Hoarding all that cap room and looking to tank rather than build a squad is responsible for the mediocre talent and inability to get over the hump. Teams that actually try should get a shot at top draft picks and those draft picks should get a shot to be with competent orgs.
