According to Tiki:

Tiki Barber hasn’t always had the nicest things to say about his former teammate Eli Manning, but the former Giants running back paid the current Giants quarterback a pretty big compliment on Wednesday.

During the show on the CBS Sports Radio Network that Barber hosts with Brandon Tierney and Dana Jacobson, Manning’s spot in the NFL’s quarterback hierarchy came up for discussion. Barber said that he thinks Manning is close to being one of the top five quarterbacks of all time and that he has already passed one heralded quarterback who shares his last name.

“The expectation was that he was never going to be Peyton. I remember having these conversations with people who watched Eli in college, saying, ‘He’s good, but he’s never going to be Peyton, he’s not Peyton.’ Guess what? I think he’s better than Peyton,” Barber said. “Because of clutch. What matters in sports? It’s winning and losing. You get to the stage and what do you do? Eli’s gotten there and he’s won.”

Two Super Bowl rings speak for themselves as do the playoff failures of some very good teams quarterbacked by Peyton Manning, but there’s a flip side to that coin. The Giants have missed the playoffs in three of the last four years, which has to reflect on Eli if you’re going to make winning and losing the crux of your argument. By comparison, Peyton’s teams have missed the playoffs just twice over the course of his career. And that’s before you even delve into the staggering numbers that the elder Manning brother has amassed during his career.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make a case for Eli being the better Manning, but one would have to consist of more than just saying he’s clutch because the job responsibilities go beyond that.

Tiki Barber: Eli Manning is a better quarterback than Peyton Manning | ProFootballTalk

So this nicca just went from bashing Eli and laughing at Eli trying to be a leader, to now considering him a top 5 GOAT QB:heh:

It's all about what you prefer in a QB. This is the best part of the article:

"Two Super Bowl rings speak for themselves as do the playoff failures of some very good teams quarterbacked by Peyton Manning, but there’s a flip side to that coin. The Giants have missed the playoffs in three of the last four years, which has to reflect on Eli if you’re going to make winning and losing the crux of your argument. And that’s before you even delve into the staggering numbers that the elder Manning brother has amassed during his career."

Personally....I would take Eli :manny:

Tiki Barber is an interesting guy the more I learn about him. I really don't and didn't like him, but he seems to be more of a narccicist and suffers from smartest-most-talented-person-in-the-room syndrome than anything else. Dude wanted to be an astronaut and went to Virginia for that purpose. He didn't even think football was fun and honestly thought it was beneath him. He probably could've been much more talented if he had the drive/desire/will to be so but he didn't care to do so. We say that about a lot of players but he is a prime example to me. I still say at some point in his life he will have an oj-like ending because someone will challenge his intelligence and break his confidence. He won't be able to take that.

With that said, while I somewhat disagree I don't think the gap between Eli Manning and Peyton Manning is very signifigant. Peyton is a better passer but the gap between Tier Zero and Tier 1 in this case is thin. Eli doesn't let overconfidence lead him to bad decisions like Peyton does in many cases. Both are great teammates according to those who have played with them, and I have no reason to think either is a poor leader.

To me, its simply opinion between who you'd rather have on your team; whether you beleive in the intangible of "clutch" or "consistent" more. Whichever player you choose shows which you value more.

I don't care what anyone says..... Peyton Manning is the best QB since Montana and if not for the piss poor defenses that he had, he would have as many rings and nobody would be talking about Brady.....

No disrespect to Brady.

Nobody would be talking about Eli either... He would still be Peyton's lil bro.

Eli manning made the NFL on his own merits (other than the same nepotism that got he and his brother to college in the first place)...and he succeeded in a difference conference and won superbowls...i don't get your logic at all...

TBH, if Brady didn't choke in those two SBs loses, no one would be talking about Eli.

Brady is still one of the greats, but he "Peytoned" those last two SB appearances:youngsabo:

somewhere between a pair of D cup tiddies
the only thing separating them is "intangibles"
and even that isn't enough.
i hate that people look at payton as some god like qb-who only has one ring nonetheless !
yeah clutch matters, a LOT.

payton's the :sadbron: of the game before the heat.
why'd he leave the colts in the first place if you could refresh my memory ??

was it all $

like he needed any more, w/endorsements and all.
shyt is scusting.

Pawgs with dragons
so how many rings does lil manning need to get in order to get out his brothers shadow

I don't even think it's a case of rings. Peyton just has such prolific numbers, four MVP awards:damn: and a ring. Another ring for Eli would definitely help, but I think just stringing a bunch of elite season together would get it done too.

I'm a Peyton stan and a Manning disciple, so I'm not gonna feed into this Civil War thing

but Eli doesn't even think he's a better QB than Peyton, that's all that needs to be said

Eli is a great QB though and as far as having ice water run through his veins there's maybe nobody better
