For the first 3-5 years of their careers Rivers had way better teams and more talent, so that argument is MOOT.

Every player with multiple SB MVPs is in the HOF. This is the standard voters have ceded to.

His eligibility will further expose 1 of 2 things:

1. Superbowl MVP voting doesn't mean shyt

Phillip Rivers had Gates, Tomlinson, and a better D and yet he never won shyt....................The Defense wasn't making those clutch throws, with all that being said this team isn't going anywhere at some point the Jones kid is going to have to start and take his lumps. Might as well do it now and see what we need to surround him with to make him successful.

On a side note after watching ODB last night, Gettleman and Schurmur should be fired this morning. Ego got in the way of sound decision, with this new o-line and a playmaker like ODB the Giants would be significantly better. And if Eli continue to suck, then your giving the rookie QB a really good o-line, a great rb and wr, and a serviceable TE. Then 2020 draft load up on defense and make a run 2020-2022. OH well, pitchers and catchers report in <180 days.

You know what, don't get me wrong Eli is washed, but the Giants front office is poor and Pat Shurmur strikes me as a guy who really doesn't know what he is doing.

At the end of the day Eli Manning was the QB on the helm that won 2 Superbowls against arguably the greatest dynasty in all of sports in the toughest media market in America. He will get in the HOF.
