- "We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it."
Sounds good :sas1:

... and with such an impeccable track record, govt. is just the tool for the job.

- "We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth."
Sure, and the best way to do this is to move away from consumptionism... but she isnt talking about that I'm sure.

- "We believe that the Internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality."
:duck:
The way you believe the market shouldnt be rigged.
:snoop: How can anyone trust the state with this kind of shyt?

- "We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage."
This will simply drive inflation, and bring us right back to where we are. :mindblown: How is this still seen as a fix?
Simple supply and demand is again being ignored/evaded as usual.

Debase your currency and blame employers brehs :deadmanny:

- "We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them."
we? :patrice:them?:patrice:
I'm too drunk for this one...

- "We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt."

Too many people go to college...
and half of those that graduate(which is like half of those who attend) are working jobs that dont require a degree...
:heh:
But we need to send more people to college and cover the cost with taxpayer money :mjlol:

Didnt warren have tenure? :heh:

- "We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions."

:dahell: You take my money, force me to negotiate for it back, for my own good?...
Jesus.
Why is there no opt out of this stupid shyt?????:mindblown:

- "We believe—I can't believe I have to say this in 2014—we believe in equal pay for equal work."
This has been disproven so many times its insane.
Just say you want to further divorce pay from merit/productivity:rudy:

- "We believe that equal means equal, and that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, it's true in all of America."
:skip:
I support civil unions between consenting adults regardless of sex/race/religion, and think govt. should get out of the business of marriage altogether.

That said, drop the equality bullshyt. No one in this country has the right to marry who they love/like/want. Every man has the right to marry a woman and every women has the right to marry a man. No man/woman straight or not has the right to marry some one of the same sex.
There is no right that 1 man has that another doesnt... period. Only by accepting this idea that marrying who you love is on the books can this equality shyt take flight.

- "We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform."
:ehh: Open borders, i'm with it.
:patrice: But is that what progressives mean?

- "And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!"
Birth control is not a right :snoop:
Even if you buy the asinine idea that healthcare services themself are a right, you are doing way too much stretching it to Birth control.
That said, how could your employer not footing the bill for anything(birth control in this case) be a violation of your rights?
Have we really fallen that far? Is saying no to paying for some ones IUD denying them their right to their body?

Those "commandments" seem to be just words with no real ideological backing. This makes them stupid.

I always find libertarians stance on marriage weird but i get the rationale behind the other shyt op said.

Edit...not the hobby lobby thing either and the 'corporations shouldn't be people' is a stupid argument.

Are these still your positions @DEAD7?
For the most part. :ehh:
:whoa:Warning I'm going to give a lot of short simple responses to complex issues

- "We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it."
Still dont rust govt. with the job... and would prefer competing for profit mechanisms monitoring wall street.

- "We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth."

Govt remains the biggest polluter :manny:
But global warming is real and I agree something should be done.

- "We believe that the Internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality."
The unholy union of govt. and market that has produced our current ISPs is so bad I would oppose govt. provided internet.
But the regulations that would come would diminish what the web is and could be.
:mjcry:
On second thought just leave it how it is... the govt. fukkery would last way longer than this comcast/warner nonsense.

- "We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage."

I still believe raising the min wage to be a band-aid, not a solution... a band-aid that disproportionately hurts African Americas.
I oppose it.

- "We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them."
:snoop:Still not gonna touch this. Dont want you to go into a labor* frenzy

- "We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt."
Still believe too many people go to college as is :yeshrug:

- "We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions."

:camby:

- "We believe—I can't believe I have to say this in 2014—we believe in equal pay for equal work."
This has been disproven so many times its insane.
Just say you want to further divorce pay from merit/productivity:rudy:
:salute:

- "We believe that equal means equal, and that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, it's true in all of America."

:russell:not an issue anymore

- "We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform."
With our current state, just close the borders :snoop:

- "And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!"
Birth control is not a right :snoop:
