I think it'll work full time if he has an actual angle to run with. While the crowd likes him, he's still seen as a joke so you have to build up just a little credibility that he can win on his own. Something like a veteran, like let's just use Jack Swagger as an example, takes him under his wing and teaches them how to wrestle in taped vignettes. All of sudden Swagger's teachings become successful and Ellsworth wins a match on his own and it's someone Swagger lost to the week before. Thus, jealousy heel turn for Swagger and you have a program. Ellsworth wins the blowoff and now can be seen as a legit midcard jobber instead of a straight out jobber.
He hit AJ with a No Chin Music and almost got to a 3 count , I think he's alright rn:wow:

Ellsworth could be useful with his veteran pro-wrestling experience behind the scenes in addition to being a jobber.

Dude proved himself and he seems like good people and is entertaining. How can you hate on that?:ehh:

I do agree, keep him in small doses and let him have some backstage job.

Breh, Ellsworth loses for 5 years, gets fed up, put his career on the line for 1 more championship match, loses and comes back with his own version of the Dangerous Alliance could be a dope angle

They should put GOATSworth in the rumble as #1, 2, or 30. He should eliminate 3 people and last for either a cool 10mins, or a fast 5 mins where he lowkey clears house and then gets tossed by a person like Braun strowman to the third row

The underdog hook works great for him because he is the definition of an underdog. He sells every move well and made AJ (who is about his height but in much better shape obviously) look vicious. He oversells as if he is really taking a beating but not in a Dolph Ziggler way. The way he continuously staggers around is :ehh:

He should continue to be a plot device. There are many angles/wrestling tropes you can do with the underdog/wimp:

Jobber as fodder to a heel
"Open" challenger for a cheap pop against a heel
inadvertent winner in a gimmick match (he could take a finisher in the first minute of a random battle royal and just lay there and then stumble up and push the final two over the top...or the same with a ladder match)
"Prop" for a face to make a heel challenge (like Ambrose/Styles the last few weeks)
"Mystery" partner or the "I can beat you two, I can beat you with ANYONE else on the roster" partner
Wrong place wrong time guy who costs the heel a match just because he was bumbling around

The best part about Ellsworth is that he isn't taken seriously. Eugene was out there really wrestling. Ellsworth is just storytelling. He isn't meant to be a serious competitor and that's what makes it fresh. Win or lose, he is the means to an end. He's a relief pitcher. There are many ways it can go.
