It was majority uneducated whites that voted for him. Uneducated latino men too but thats just as expected.
Trump does well with the uneducated.. of course he shuts down Department of Education

They mostly do. Problem was the DoE became useless because they were always at odds with State admins. DoE withholds funding if you don't comply with their demands. That's not usually a bad thing, but when test scores aren't improving you have to wonder why the DoE budget is so large and who is getting the money.
I don't think the DoE necessarily has to be closed, but a revamp is needed if we're going to have one. As of now, the Department of Education isn't helping to educate anyone and is just a piggybank for grifters.
