I always feel like these "net worth" things are misleading to general public.

Because if something cost 2 billion dollars there is a big chance Elon Musk couldn't go into any of his bank accounts and buy that thing lol. Like, could Musk purchase the Dallas Cowboys straight up, no help? Maybe, I could be wrong...

These guys worth are tied up in the stocks, and they couldn't liquidate all of the stock since thats illegal and would crash the market. Like ole Zuck, Bezos etc...they do not have $150 billion of touchable money lol...

Hey, what do I know....

HE ISN'T MAD ABOUT TAXES. HE IS MAD ABOUT WHERE HIS TAXES GO. I CAN'T REALLY BLAME HIM.

BILLIONAIRES GET TAX BREAKS THROUGH DONATIONS AND ECONOMY BUILDING INCENTIVE PROGRAMS. REMOVING THOSE TAX INCENTIVE PROGRAMS AND TAXING THEM WILL PUT THE SOLE BURDEN OF APPROPRIATION ON THE GOVERNMENT.

ALL THAT MONEY THAT YOU SEE THE RICH DONATING GOES POOF. IT GOES INTO THE FEDERAL BUDGET WHERE LOBBYISTS PULL THE STRINGS. THE MONEY WILL END UP WITH SOME DEFENSE CONTRACTOR WHILE FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS GETS DECREASED FURTHER.
You really believe this huh?

Yeah, I’m sure it’s for purely philanthropic purposes. :mjlol:

And yet he complains about paying taxes. The absurd levels of greed the wealthy elite have should really be a case study into the human psyche. I'm not sure if there are studies supporting this but I think the more money you have the less empathetic you become and the more paranoid you are about losing it. Elon Musk has enough money to end world hunger and yet he's on twitter trying to convince regular folk that slightly raising the tax rate for billionaires is a bad thing. Its just absurd. This whole entire system is just one large parody.

The fact that Tesla is worth a trillion dollars off 500K in sales, adds even more to the absurdity.
And millions of people worship this charlatan.

Hey, what do I know....

What the rich do is borrow against their wealth. Lets say he needs 25 million, he flies to the bank and borrows at 2% interest. If he liquidates the same amount in stocks, it would cost 50% in taxes. That’s why they like to talk about how they don’t even have a salary.

That’s why people are saying let’s tax the wealth as well as income.

if Larry Ellison got his loan with 1% interest rate, thats $100 million dollars in revenue for the bank.

And there's nothing we can do about it :yeshrug:

Or is there. There are more of us than them, remember that
The problem is most people are not willing to shed blood and start a bloody revolution which is the only
thing that will put an end to this insane crony capitalism system

If it was you worth that amount would you have a problem with it?

If you had decency, honor and shame, you would. Then again only the most selfish, greedy sociopath
end up being the biggets advocate of capitalism.
