If he sold even 10 percent of his stocks and lands and donated that money to non-profit organizations helping people on the ground, he would transform neighborhoods in America and save lives while still being so wealthy he will have more money than he could spend in 3 lifetimes. Every day this man wakes up knowing he has that kind of power. Knowing that with a few presses of a button or a phone call, he could eliminate the debt of thousands of families but instead he decides he'll buy himself a new rolex and bullshyt on twitter.
People don't understand the absurd number that 1 billion is. 1 million seconds is 11 days. 1 billion seconds is 31 YEARS. If his wealth could be represented as a lifespan(230 billion) that is equal to 7,130 years. If you have a functioning government, something like this should be impossible. This kind of thing is only possible because wall street has been eroding worker protections and financial regulations for years and funding conservative movements world-wide. They're trying to take things back to the days of the East India company where private organizations could literally have their own armies and take over countries. The future they want is one where there are no unions, they own the town you live in, and if you decide to quit then you lose all pensions, healthcare and housing and will be forced to move to another city owned by another company. If you ran afoul of them, they could take EVERYTHING away. There is historical precedent for this.
