Report: Broncos were concerned about Robert Griffin’s character
The Browns landed quarterback Robert Griffin III in part because no one else wanted him. Specifically, because the Broncos didn’t want him.

Griffin definitely was interested in the Broncos; he grew up a fan of the team. The problem for Griffin is that the coach and G.M. of the Broncos have ties that are too close to Griffin’s first coach in the NFL.

As explained by Mike Klis of 9News.com, the Broncos considered Griffin but ultimately opted not to pursue him.

“[A]fter making a few phone calls, Elway was concerned about Griffin’s character,” Klis writes. “Elway never did express interest in the former Washington quarterback who was the NFL’s Rookie of the Year in 2012 but had several fallouts with Coach Mike Shanahan, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and teammates.”

While Klis never makes the express connection between Elway, Broncos coach Gary Kubiak, and Mike Shanahan, that link doesn’t need to made for a Denver audience. Broncos fans know that Elway was the quarterback, Kubiak was the coordinator, and Shanahan was the coach for the team’s back-to-back championships in 1997 and 1998.

The Swamp
A guy who forced his way to a team after threatening to pursure a baseball career if he were drafted by the colts, also employed a guy who sexually assaulted a woman, is complaining about character issues :heh:

Don't forget about how he got rid of the guy with arguably the best "character" in the NFL for the sexual abuser :mjpls:

I did read in previous articles that RG3 was a locker room cancer...but Shany fuked shyt up for him regardless.

I actually think Denver should get Kaep over RG3. The expectations for the starting QB are going to be high there especially with their recent championship win and their very high preforming defense. I just think Kaep would do a lil better than RG3. It's sad for Broncos fans that Osweiller couldn't move his ego aside and not let that benching and Peyton's ending his career like NFL and cac fans wanted get to him. I was also interested in seeing him preform starting for an entire season with the Broncos.

Broncos just won a SB without a strong QB. :ld: I'd say the expectations are less than high. Just looking for average. A game manager. :ld:

Yeah but they did lose a couple of defensive players. The important thing is to keep that D in tact as much as possible but still improve the O. With KC doing well and Raiders on come up...AFC West getting to be very competitive.
