I don't think this is 100% a black.white thing.
I honestly think Broncos should have brought in RG3 for right price. Would not have stopped them from potentially getting another draft pick / FA QB and rolling with a competition between RG3/The Young QB on roster/New guy.

But clearly some of this is about burning bridges and having it come back to bite you. I had completely forgotten about the Shanahan-Denver relationship but they didn't.
He works in an environment where everyone knows everyone, and his talent on it's own isn't enough to overcome his damaged reputation.
And he also isn't 100% responsible for his reputation but he didn't do himself many favors.

When I quit my job I was surprised to learn how many people at my new job had connections with my last job. I'm sure it's even worse in the NFL.

I only watched some of the games during that regular season. Yeah he did better last qtr of a lot of those games. I remember that game against the chargers that went far into overtime. Yes the defense was the MVP in that game. I guess it's just people want a god fearing good Christian man to succeed. But he did garner way too much media attention.
