again Ive shown a proof of him physically making a ridiculously difficult throw where a pass is throw 50 yards in the air on the run.

nfl plays usually arent designed to go more than 50 yards in the air anyway.
hes had an arm to make any throws required.

rodgers has a strong arm, but not even that strong either. hes not top 5 in the nfl or anything. trust me, Ive watched him from cal days and Ive watched him pretty closely in the nfl. guys like vick cutler stafford flacco all have much much stronger arms

He didn't have the arm to make any throws. I'm sorry. You weren't asking Joe to throw deep outs and deep comebacks. He didn't have the arm for that.

Do a search on Joe's arm and they'll all say he didn't have a strong arm.

Learn your football history if you think Ken and Bernie were scrubs.

Some of you dudes have shyt for opinions.

Miss me with that bullshyt

I was in diapers when that nikka Ken Anderson was finishing up his career, talking about I need to learn some football history...FOH :flabbynsick:

I know Bernie had a front row seat for The Drive :gladbron:

thats cool, but Montana did not have a stronger arm than ARod. Not even close.

In Montana's era, I dont think he even makes top 10 (off the top, Kelly, Marino, Moon, Boomer, Doug Williams, Sims, Cunningham, Fouts, Jay Schroeder, Jim Everitt, Jim McMahon... damn thats over 10)

I thought Joe's best throw was his TD against the Rams in the NFC championship to John Taylor.

Over 20 years later....and the accuracy on that throw still astounds me...

You should....if you did, you wouldn't take offense to Elway being alongside him.

And yes.....QB #1 had better numbers....that was Bernie Kosar whose numbers were better than Elway's.

You want to fault me for saying he was in Elway's league when the only thing that separated Elway from Bernie was one drive and one fumble? :childplease:

his numbers are middle of the road when you compare him to his peers.

Dude was an overrated QB.

On the Redskins message board, I said Eli Manning has had a better career than Elway at similar points, and those old idiots tried to take my head off. I posted their season by season numbers and how they ranked against their peers, and they were still mad even though the facts were in their face.

Elway was a great player, def a HOFer, but he benefited from a few things to keep his hype up:
a) dude had a lot of made for TV moments in his career which stuck in peoples minds, "The Drive" "Mile High Magic" etc.... and this all happened in the 1980s which is where the explosion of TV media took place. Its why famous people from the 80s are more revered than any other period in the 20th century, imo. Especially athletes.

b) He looks like the prototypical QB. Every QB since Elway has been compared to dude physically. Like every QB is supposed to be 6'4", 220 lbs, with a huge arm, and athletic enough to gain yards with their legs. I have no idea why this dude was chosen as the prototype over other QBs, but its him and no one else.

c) The myth that he carried the Broncos as a one man team. This shyt is what is keeping a guy like Karl Mecklenberg from serious HOF consideration, imo. Denver had a very good defense that kept Elway in games that he was pulling stupid hijinks early on so that he could have his made for TV moment and take most of the credit.

Its pretty sad that many would put Elway over QBs like Montana, Favre, Brady, Marino, Manning, Fouts, Staubach, and many other great QBs. Elway did not have a better career than an Eli Manning, yet when you say that people get emotional.

i feel u on that. but the same could be said for eli he had alot of made for tv moments and thats the reason people overrate him. They make him seem like the most clutchest qb similar to elway

And TWO SB rings my nikka :youngsabo:

edit: only taking exception to everyone who is acting like it is blasphemous and sacrilegious for Elway to be mentioned with the gawd Marino; not offended with the Ken comparison--just ignorant of who the fukk he is :yeshrug:

the thing is, you are 100% right!

That is why I compared him to Eli Manning and made an argument that he is as good if not better.

If I just made that comparison, without bringing up the numbers or these points, I would get laughed at without anyone actually thinking

i dont know about being smarter with the ball he arod rarely throws pics

A Rod takes too many sacks because he holds on to the ball to long. That's why I think Joe was smarter.

Elway carried the Broncos to those two super bowls now?

Hell naw, them joints were team efforts...the most extraordinary display of team that we've ever seen on that grandest of football stages

My nikka TD :ohlawd:

And don't forget that in SB XXXIII, the gawd was the oldest to win the MVP at 38. :gladbron: What were other nikkas doing at 38? :usure::heh::mjpls:
