wreaks of never watching Elway play before 1993, or just bad memory. That dude used to absolutely carry his team to the Super Bowl. Imagine Tony Romo leading the Cowboys to the Superbowl. That was Elway. Not to trash his line, but they couldn't block. Sorry if you were one of them, but the proof was your lack of running game. Elway was scrambling for his life, making shyt happen, throwing TDs to Vance Johnson. He had nowhere near the talent around him that teams like Houston, Cleveland, Buffalo, Giants, Skins, 49ers, etc. Yet, they were still playing and beating these dudes. When he finally got to win a Super Bowl, those teams were entirely different, with All-Pro talent all over the team, with great lines and running game.

100%.

People put him in the top 10, and they're stupid for it.

Dudes career Passer Rating ranks below some mediocre QB's.

That story book ending to his career did him wonders.

Anytime this dude is on your side of the argument its time to reconsider your stance on the issue. Matter of fact I advised you automatically take the opposite stance.

Why are people still posting in this thread? :what:

Elway was the GOAT QB during the 90s. Capped off with back to back rings and the GOAT super bowl moment when he was helicopetered by 5 Green Bay linebackers but still drove on them fakkits to score.

Now my nikka runs his restaurant with all the heavy hitters in Denver and is addicted to alcohol and cocaine.

Let my nikka live damn :what:

Him and Aikman extremely overrated.

This is how I feel when I see Aikman's numbers but I can't comment because I never saw more than 16 of his games (Sample is too small)

John Elway is the Michael Vick of his era. You give Vick what Elway had and he's winning Super Bowls.

Let's be reality stats don't even tell a fraction of the story of how great a QB John Elway was, though I'll say this he was a late bloomer, but if you put him in todays NFL, he would be Tom Brady/Peyton Manning level.

Yeah he is and if he played today there is no way he makes it to year 15 to get that first SB on TD's back. His lore is mostly based in the most overrated stat there is...comeback victories.

This is irrelevant because it cannot be proven. It is utter foolishness to deal in hypotheticals

Donovan will always be underrated. He made Andy Reid as much as Reid made him. Donovan was a very good QB, if he had 1 or 2 SB, he'd be a top 15 QB.
This dude :to: messed everything up. :manny:

On Elway: He was top 10 TD, top 10 pass attempted/completed, top 10 pass% INT, Top 10 GW drives before 1993. Also made the pro-bowl too.

I thought Joe Namath sucked too:ohlawd: once i looked at his stats but when i went back compared them to QBs of that era, :dwillhuh:i realized that his numbers were very good.

This I said a couple of years ago that the Eagle were unappreciative of how good McNabb really was, dude was a top 5 QB throwing to bottom heap talent for most of his career and he extended plays with his feet covering for a so-so offensive line.
