Neva understood the critics n bloggers judging off of someone's work the minute it drops on the net especially a full length LP..only on the internet where you get cats callin an LP that's jus fresh outta vault a classic shyt is funny, cuz u knw most of these cats r afraid of being outta the loop/wave so they fake the funk just to get a rep..Hence y hiphop music journalist at an all time low with their reviews b/c of their wave riding..Its impossible to critique an album within days after it dropped. you need to let it sink in n sit on it n vibe with it..if not, at least give it a 5days b/c your perception n vibe changes all the time..It's amazing what that can do for u, what u felt first time hearin it may not be the same feeling after a week nahmean..so when it comes to reading reviews by these publications I almost always take it with a grain of salt...cuz these cubical nikkas are just riding the waves till the wheel falls of, hence that latest kanye LP..

So with that in mind, Here's my honest critique of the album cuz I been listening to this LP since it leaked last fri.. :hamster:

Production: 7.5/10 was solid for the most part but nothin really jumped @ me except for the clear favorites "cloud", "widipedia" n last but not least the simple production on "introverted" but it was done right which made it that much more enjoyable n giving it high replay value...Bombay came thru for Elzhi on those tracks yo
:ehh:...For any of yall cats that got hooked on by that beautiful beat on "cloud" there's more were that came from. I suggest u check out Good To Be Home By Blu..Bombay laced him with the illest production throughout the whole LP, modern day west coast g soul classic:wow:

Lyrics: 8/10 felt like Elzhi coasted throughout the album but he dropped couple of hot lines here n there when needed to, just wasn't @ the same level or witty as Ellmatic.

Flow: 5/5 prolly his strongest attribute on the album. Floated really well on the whole album Neva sounded outta of pocket..

Voice/Delivery: 8/10

Originality/Creativity: 3.5/5. U have "Hello" where it's the best concept record on the whole LP n u got "MisRight" definitely one of Elzhi's cringiest record to date. The whole track was a mess from that awful hook, bland production to the school of Papoose lyrical miracle concept record..Definitely was a miss.

Cohesion: 8/10

Content/Theme: 9/10...very much enjoyed this part bout the album. Elzhi touched on so many issues from his personal struggles dealing with depression to the uplifting motivational song "The Healing Process"

check out 432 hz ... Then u'll understand n appreciate why Elzhi placed "healing process" in the order that it is in the album..

Usage Of Guest Feature: 5/5 wasn't a whole lotta guest features but they did deliver it.. Elzhi needs to work on his hooks yo..shyt sounded really cheesy on most of those records..

Execution: 4/5

Overall a dope album just didn't exceed my expectation I had for this album since it been in the works for over 4yrs now.:francis:

4/5 or 8/10 album..Elzhi coasted n jus did enough to get ppl checking for him n possibly a top 5 AOTY contender..

Aight peace

Prime Mos Def is better than any era Lupe. Facts.

Elzhi is better than any era Lupe. Facts.

This album >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tetsuo

Back to this album.
Was readin the back n forth bickering b/t both of yall lol...I knw ur saying this just out of spite...

But u knw it's a far reach to compare this album (dope) to Lupe's Tetsuo..

Elzhi being better than Lupe ever was is another reach I have to call u out on.

Love both of these emcees but no one was fukkin with Lupe in his prime yo..He was that nikka with a back to back game changing classic LPs..still to this day No rapper has topped what many considers his masterpiece The Cool. he was invisible like Nas in 96 Jay in 02...

Lupe already one of the greatest lyricist this genre has ever seen.. Son just be on wild insecure petty shyt for ppl to give him his due tho..even with all that corny shyt he pulled, you'd be hard pressed to find more than a handful of rappers from past to present who can out rap him on a track. :manny:

Lupe one of the best to do it but I'd take El over him any day of the week.

There are some really great songs on here. Only 2 plays deep but I've already identified with around 3-4 tracks strongly.

We'll see if they approach classics of Elzhi past. My hunch is they will.

And please stop bringing goofy ass Nas up in here.

How sway?

At least make an effort to debunk me instead of fishing for daps..

If we comparing the two based on pure skill...Lupe> Elzhi IMHO..Lupe's more of a complete emcee than Elzhi. Can u break u off with any type of record where Elzhi is limited, can only do so much..as evident on his new album his storytelling ability is nowhere near Lupe's or even Blu or Kendrick's..Lupe's plethora of flows n potent delivery over Elzhi's ...Elzhi got him on rhyme schemes tho, n his multis prolly one of the best in hiphop period. Lupe a better song writer than Elzhi ever was..Lupe always had the upper edge when it came to makin a better quality albums too.

N Are we really still debating if whether or not Lupe is considered one of the greatest lyricist in hiphop...in 2016 Breh :comeon:

Nikka has proved time n time again why he should be in the upper echelon of the greatest lyricists category (Nas, DOOM, GZA, early Killah Priest etc..)

Lupe gave ya F&L...this album was a game changer b/c he was able to present a really fresh perspective on what hip hop could be in a time where the bulk of the genre was very mundane and sounded the same. With the release of this album, lyricism shifted back into mainstream light in a time where ringtone rappers/ street rappers dominated the air waves. Also, he made rappin bout skateboards n robots seem cool in the rap game. ppl gravitated towards that shyt which in turn helped paved a way for all these new age rappers I ain't really fond of (chance, j cole, wale, kendrick, earl, tyler etc...) fux with kendrick tho.

The Cool- conceptually, this album is unparalleled yo..one of the greatest commercially released album of all time..Still to this day no rapper has yet to match or outdone the lyrical performance of this album yo.

In fact, the verses on "The Coolest" are the strongest bar for bar verses in years could say the same for "put u on game" n that world play galore "dumb it down"

“She’d teach my how to fly, even cushion my fall,
If my engines ever stall, and I plummet from the sky,
But she would keep me high, and if I ever die
She would commission my image on her bosom, to him.
Or maybe she’d retire as well
A match made in Heaven set the fires in Hell,
and I’ll be.” C'mon B:mindblown:

The verses were memorable, mix that with devastating plethora of flows, rhyme schemes n potent delivery..Nikka was really ahead of his time when this dropped..:whoo:

His storytelling abilities is just as great as Nas N Ghostface Killa's but Nas will forever be the Goat storyteller in my eyes, nikka has so many motion picture songs:ahh:

Got one of best word plays out there just as nice as Jay's..His double entendres r just insane.. Nikka is a complete emcee can u break u off with that braggadocio raps (early mixtape era), that introspective raps, that lyrical miracle shyt, n those concept records..

N plus nikka got a track record of lyrical tracks like failure, n dumb it down etc..N the only rapper who's progressed as a lyricist with every release with exception of those 2 fillers of course, hence the progression F&L, to The Cool n Now Tetsuo & Youth.
You just can't deny this mans greatness on mic b..

Lupe one of the best to do it but I'd take El over him any day of the week.

I can respect this n I knw where u coming from breh..

Both r my fave emcees along w/ the Goat Nas, DOOM, n Andre 3k but I'll pick Blu ova any of those MCs tho with the exception of Nas n Andre 3k..Blu's flow n cadence is unreal, nikka really took the time to perfect his craft like Andre 3k did..One of the only few MCs who can jus vibe out on any track or guest feature nonchalantly n just ends up bodying a track without coming off as too lyrical n shyt

i think when like these album threads need to have some pocket section for this dumb infighting between posters that happens

like when drake stans derail a Kendrick thread or vice versa

a lot of in fight here that has nothing to do with what seems to be a great album
