I liked this & can't say anything on it was a negative but I just think the nature of what else I been listening to made this sound kind of unimpressive in regards to different sounds on a project. El bars are as impressive as ever but the production sticks the same note throughout..nice beats but wish there would have been some more variety. Also thought Little Brother did this same satire better on MTLW.

best tracks
Hot Winter Cold Summer
EarlyBird NightOwl
Light One Write One
Guns & Boats

We have pretty much the same favorite tracks if you add Potential and Master Class.

The production sticks to the same note but for some reason I don't mind it. Usually I would want more variety but I think it works. If there's anything with the production it's that (in the car at least) the bass drowned out El's voice in some places. El's elite as it gets, but sometimes his voice isn't powerful enough to cut through really hard beats.

I also agree the satire misses the mark here a bit. It's my least favorite part about the album.

:leon: I checked JR's Instagram and it looks like Smoke Mirrors and EarlyBird Night Owl are the first 2 joints they recorded a couple of years ago. I guess they took a break and then re-connected in 2020 and finished up all these other songs.

“So I wrote this to warn you bout the unicorn shytting on your goat list”

All the transitions made me revisit The Preface for a minute to see if there was anything like this back then. The Science ends by setting up the robbery in Hands up, which ends with like Elzhi going through his book of rhymes to set up What I Write. There’s a lot more attention to sequencing these days. Foolish Intro through THUGGed Out Zombies is especially dope.

:sas2: El is asking for all of the smoke/begging for someone to try him with masterclass:ufdup:
