Slightly off topic, but why hasn't Elzhi linked up with Eminem???

Hip hop purists don't destroy me, just asking the question :hubie:

Really surprising, thought he'll be on Detroit vs everybody or get a spot on one of Big Sean's tapes

elzhi is always a first day cop without even hearing one bar
copped a copy for me and bought 6 for various friends :myman:

been a stan for damn near 20 years I support that nikka at every opportunity and spread the gospel :smugdraper:

first listen this nikka's bars melted my brain:damn:

in my opinion he was always elite tier but he's pulling away and become something else entirely, breh so nice I can't believe the human mind is capable of some of the stuff he does :mindblown:

sorry for the overt standom but real nikkas know :lawd:

Gonna have to listen a few times to digest the lyrics and the songs but based off one complete listen it probably has my favorite production of an Elzhi solo(I'm not counting Elmatic).
I can see where you're coming from

I've always felt The Preface had flawless production personally :manny:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Best album this year :hubie:

El did his thing the highs are superior to others who dropped this year. Definitely better than Led Poison and the last one which I thought were great.

I still go back to Euro Pass and The Preface :whew:

I wish we got the Elzhi, Black Milk and Royce album

:mjcry:

Really good question. I'm not sure. The Eminem hater in me wants to say because Em is afraid of getting washed, but out of everything I can criticize him for, Em has never had an issue of getting on tracks or stepping into cyphers with emcees that can out-rap him.

Honestly, my best guess is politics? :jbhmm: Most of the pure-rhymer type rappers that get on tracks with Em (Royce, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Lloyd Banks, Obie Trice, Conway, Benny, Obie Trice) have either been signed to Shady or affiliated through G-Unit or Interscope.

Elzhi has the Detroit connection but has never been affiliated with anyone super close to Em's people. I mean one of Em's best friends, Mr. Porter (Kon Artis from D12), is one of the most underrated producers ever, and Alchemist is Em's DJ. Very rarely does either guy produce for Em, and overall I think Em makes odd guest feature and production choices for his albums.

After a week of steady rotation this os definitely my fav non-SV Elzhi album. Dude finally found the right mix of production. I really slept on the wordplay on "Potential" when I first skimming thru the album, the shyt he's saying on that track is crazy.
Same here.

Potential is amazing. Top 5 on the album.

The one I slept on was GOD.

The main track I'm skipping after having some time to sit with this is Thugged Out Zombies. I know the storytelling is great, and maybe it's the production, but for some reason once I heard the story a few times, I was cool on it. I pretty much am not skipping anything else on this.

I still wish he had a verse on Guns & Boats, but the track is still fire.

Two dudes that kind of stay in there own lane/act as loaners with the rap shyt. Big respect for each other though, both were tight with Proof and met each other through him. They go all of the way back to the hip hop shop days. El has some interviews out there taking about their relationship. They used to polly/kick it every so often in the past. A collab is overdue imo. Probably need someone like Royce to put that together. Due to the reclusiveness. Probably would've happened at some point had Proof lived.
