at the backfire
at the backfireI've heard that before but, I didn't entertain it until the remix dropped three days ago. When I first heard the song when I was younger, I knew I've heard that flow before. But, now I hear it clear as day.![]()
Aww nikka you know its true lol
until after he blew? em seem to sound like Ace right off the bat brehNah lol, but I have to do this every other week.
Ace influenced Em for sure, but they didn't start sounding alike until after Em blew, and it was because the influence was mutual. If you gonna go pull up songs from DA to make an argument you'll lose.

Masta Ace Reveals Eminem Collabo Was Prevented, Explains How He "Took The Lumps" For A$AP Rocky
DX: I wanna wrap up this quick Q&A by asking you about a couple of recent tweets you made [@mastaace]. Someone tweeted you on June 11th asking if you would ever work with Eminem, and you replied [that the deejay constructed] remixed “SlaughtaHouse” [in 2008 for Delicious Vinyl’s Rmxxology project] that that conversation between y’all never happened.
Masta Ace: Yeah [pauses], it’s tricky, man. He was originally supposed to be on Disposable Arts. A lot of people don’t know that. The track that Young Zee is on with me and Strick, [“Something’s Wrong”], he was supposed to be on that track. And, management kinda came in and got a little heavy-handed I guess and told him that wasn’t in his best interest at that time.

QB rappers generally" bite" each others flow I don't really call it biting though if its emulating someones flow patterns
To me it's about lineage. You have people like Rakim and G-Rap that laid foundations for advanced lyricism...cats like Nas, Pun, Em ect. come from that G-Rap lineage. You gonna add your own flavor and twists but that's still the base if you wanna start pointing out who's biting what from who. The trick is applying those mechanics to your voice/story and doing something new with it.
