Back in the day I knew someone who was a relative of Proof who told me he was broke. Idk how true this was back then but this was around the time Obie Trice dropped Cheers and a year before D12 World (their 2nd album) dropped.

But I never heard anybody in D12 speak bad on Em. But I do remember Proofs mom (Mama Pep) said he wasn’t looking out for her some years before she passed away. So Idk honestly but he took them dudes out the hood and around the world so if they mismanaged funds then that’s on them.

It seems like Denaun is the only one I know of who is actually successful (and Trick Trick but he wasn’t in D12) but the only guy who is not lowkey is Bizarre.

I think Devils Night is a classic. Probably the 3rd best album in Em's discography. They were all dope spitters (except Bizarre, but hes actually a better rapper these days) and the productions crazy.

I'm not sure its a good idea to release a D12 album without Em helming the project. I hope at least they can get a verse or a few beats from him.

They have some mixtapes without Em that are actually not bad so who knows. Maybe if Bizarre is on board, Fuzz rejoins and Foul Mouth produces it could be a good album without needing Em. I believe Bass Bros will/should be involved. It was reported that they were producing music for them 10 years ago that never released, and D12 work with Jeff Bass' son regularly. Would be ideal to get Jeff Bass on production for this. It would be very weird without Em or Denaun involved at all though.

damn they even lost denaun? denaun is a great producer. i loved the shyt he did with pharaohe monch. the only shyt ive heard from him that i hate is the shyt he did with eminem. and you can tell eminem had a hand in the production because its pure asscheeks. surprised denaun let his name be attached to "remind me" (the one with the joan jett sample)

somewhere in his head eminem is still a little boy watching the walk this way run dmc/aerosmith video, but the world has moved on. yet hes still shamelessly hamfisting these terrible classic rock choruses for his hooks. god damn that shyt isnt just putrid its lazy. whenever i hear horrible shyt like jelly roll "reinterpolating" classic rock songs, i know that bullshyt may have started with run dmc, but it became a cancer because of eminem and his 'sing for the moment' bullshyt

theres this one song on MMLP2 that uses the zombies 'time of the season' as a sample and he takes it and whines about his fukking dad. a grown man in his 40s. and his dad was still alive.. he coulda called him and yelled that shyt throug the phone, but he had records to sell. i cant stand the corniness. and people LOVE those songs, like that horrible "mockingbird" shyt and the other songs he wrote for his kid.

i dont get it man. shyt is so cornball to me. i listen to some questionable music sure but i would be embarrassed to be bumping that shyt at a red light. i respect em's technical ability (i guess) and his respect for the golden era, but i dont wanna hear this nonsense. would be a lot more interesting if he hooked up with buckshot or treach or even the old outsidaz/D12 guys and made some real grimey boombap lyrical shyt. id give that a chance

but you just know if that happened, he'd have buckshot sampling ac/dc or jefferson starship or some corny shyt

im surprised marshall hasnt sampled "we built this city (on rock and roll)" and made some aural holocaust themed around Detroit

"D12" opened for Snoop a couple years back and it ended up just being Kuniva and Swifty on that stage. I didn't expect anything else but their were a lot of confused fans when it was only two of them.

At least Em and the other members let them rock with the name so they can still make some bread.

People forget that d12 started in like 95 or something as a collective. That em 6-7 years later chose to make an album with them and then again should be seen as him paying homage and giving the guys he started with a lot of shine and multiplat albums.

But people are talking about what more he should do for them, instead of appreciating what he did just like d12 appreciates it. And even letting 2 outta 6 guys use the d12 brand, look at Wu. It’s beef every single time they have something going on, same with most groups in any genre that retired. But with d12, it’s always just Detroit vs everyone.


You can say what you want about Em, but besides his mom and baby moms in his druggy days. Nobody said anything bad about him as a person. We’re talking about the biggest rapper ever, just jumping on tracks cause dudes are from his city and are spittas. Or doing bet freestyle with mos def and black thought, not cause they are hot just of love for the culture (or what it once was). Or with Budden for that matter due to his old man Royce. He’s like his idol redman, but with last Elvis commercial success. And that’s on structural issues that he himself been dissing not him.
