Yeah Embiid looks for fouls way too much. It's one of the reasons his post play is so awkward. He had like 2-3 brilliant moves yesterday and in between those moves was a lot of flopping and looking for calls. I hate that shyt.
That's because Embiid depends on producing from a larger percentage of his possessions in the post - around 43% of his possessions are post-ups (which is the topic of discussion here) and Porzingis is equal-threat from the inside and out - only 25% of his possessions are post-ups. If Embiid was a reliable perimeter scorer, I wouldn't be judging him as harshly as I am. But since producing on the low block is his bread and butter, I must judge the effectiveness of his game accordingly. If Porzingis wasn't a Euro, blanketed with melanin, similar size and had a similar inside-style of play as Embiid, I'd be holding him to the exact same standards.
. And why are you talking about offense when Kristaps throws himself to the floor on defense? He was doing it against the Cavs so much that he hurt his elbow
You're trying to compare looking for the call on offense, to doing barrel rolls and cart wheels at the slightest touch on defense
You seem to be doing a lot of deflecting, instead of addressing how this may come back to bite Embiid when the officials allow teams to defend him with more contact. After all, a back-to-the-basket game is supposed to be one of the highest-percentage actions of scoring in a postseason climate, how exactly is that going to get consistent results if one has a tendency to look for a whistle, instead of looking to use one's post moves?

to his volleyball sized elbow. Now it's about the refs officiating him differently when it was specifcally about him hurting himself the other day? Seems like you're giving Kristaps his privilege
You may not have mentioned "flop" per se, but you've illustrated the point of it. And I wasn't necessarily talking about here, but on SOHH. I could've sworn you were amongst a group of those who frowned upon Kobe's tactics in the playoffs. If not then, I'll let you off with a warning....

Point still stands, if he was worthy of being next in line for Post position, he wouldn't have to resort to this tomfoolery - we'd simply be speaking about his moves, and his moves only. But that's not the case here. I don't remember you having to spin shyt like this when it came to Duncan's post play.
3.9 assists
3.2 turnovers
Or are those turnovers from him struggling to post up -
1.5 post-up possessions per game, 40 FG%, 1 point per game, 23% turnover frequency, in the 9th percentile ()

When are we gonna address you biting my shyt (or at the very least mirroring my view) about Harden's play the other day, after all these years where you've said what I post about him is wrong?

They're one and the same. Those bad habits will not only increase the likelihood of him getting injured (I have no sympathy for Porzingis, or any other player who gets injured while exaggerating contact), but like I initially said, they'll become so ingrained in his game that he won't be able to shake them; enter the postseason and he'll struggle to generate points in the post because he'll be constantly looking for a call, but the refs will be like....Now it's about the refs officiating him differently when it was specifcally about him hurting himself the other day? Let's cut to the chase, shall we -

Even Philly fans can see that flopping/looking for calls are a more frequent ploy of his to score, than actually utilizing his post-skillset.

All the more reason to build good habits now while his game is still malleable. The longer he keeps playing like this the longer it's gonna take for him to break those bad habits, because the likelihood of him changing his approach to the game decreases with each passing performance. Especially considering his body is a ticking time bomb and he's constantly reenacting The Three Stooges on the court. He's the YOUNG Gawd, I clearly call him that while also just referring to Duncan, Hakeem, Shaq, Wilt and Kareem as the Gawds. He's an unfinished weapon sent from the post heavens to teach non-believers that the post is still viable, the prodigy will make adjustments in the future. His three being so off is more worrying to me than him looking for calls, eventually someone will tell him to tone it down, and him being the super learning computer that he is will adjust.
And yet he'll be 24 in a few months. Most players 'are what they are' at that age for the rest of their careers, for better or for worse.Best big in the league is essentially a toddler still not even a full 82 into his career![]()

@Malta your man crush on Embiid is cool and all that, we get it... You’re in love with the nikka, but keep Porzingis name out your mouth, fukk nikka.
You’ve been warned.

Lol at the head to body ratioHasn't disappeared in enough playoff games to earn that title yet :scheming:

Picking up things quickly is one thing - any player is capable of doing that, but a leopard can't change its spots. You only have a small window to change your approach to the game (most of it you can't, as it's basically a reflection of your temperament/personality), hence Embiid being a ripe antagonizer which has him resorting to all types of "gamesmanship" tactics on the court. No, you're confusing him with other players, he picks up things entirely too quickly for something like this to become who he is. Especially as his back to the basket game is still a work in progress and his body, mainly his core/legs should get stronger over time. I'm not even going to justify that last sentence with a response, like the graceful Michelle Obama said, when they go low, we go high, thank you jesus![]()
24 is most definitely NOT young when it comes to style of play. Yes, post-oriented bigs do mature later and age more gracefully, but that's not the point I'm getting at here. Almost all players' approach to the game is set by the time they enter their mid-20s; they will forever be that type of player, players do NOT change who they are. Everything from that point on is either adding wrinkles to their existing skillset or refining what they currently have - their tendencies/habits and how they play the game all remain the same.24 isn't young now? Had you come to our meetings, you'd know that doesn't apply to bigs as their prime and peak starts later than wings, a true follower of the post knows this
The Gawds before him generally didn't even come into the league until 22-24.
