Funny how people age. One off the wall music white guy who has aged really well is Sammy Hagar. Dude is 65 years old, has boxed, drinks tequila like water and toured all his life. I got all this from some interview podcasts I heard a while back...kind of a podcast freak.
He may not be popular today with his type of music, but he is really an interesting guy to listen to from the business side. Started his own tequila and sold it for $80 million. And heard him talking about how, back in the day, bands would hire Travel Agencies to book all their flights, hotel rooms etc. Never really thought about how complicated that is or would be. The travel agency was charging him a percentage, so he just bought the travel agency, then gave great deals to other bands/acts and still made money. He got divorced and married a younger woman at 40 and lived in Hawaii part of the time and Cabo with his cantinas.
He was also on tour with Van Halen, back in the day and they all owned a Cantina down in Mexico...got back from the tour and the manager had run it into the ground, the other Van Halen band members wanted out, he bought them out and turned it into a small chain to market that tequila.
Whatever you think of his music if you catch some podcasts when he was pushing is autobiography its kind of interesting.
Once you get past what kind of music you yourself like, there are some interesting people out there.
I mean he is older...but he is 65 and led a rock star life...looks pretty good for that when you compare him to all those rock stars that look like half dead pirate extras.
