I don't believe Em's a better rapper, but his hype was bigger.He was more popular(in a media/sensationalist sense) during his run.Mainly due to being the novelty of a white rapper.

lyrically inclined? Em no doubt. but Jay ain't no slouch in that department either. musically and content wise Jay shyts all over Em's meaningless raps unless it's Em speaking on his past struggles. sometimes Jay's music doesn't have passion, or any emotion in it. one thing is that Jay made alot of music with thought and sense behind it. i don't expect people with a dumb way of thinking to get everything he says on record. that shyt would go over people's heads.
