Eh. Did you forget this is Mr. 'Line Em Up Like Columbine' with his little gun shot noises on MMLP? Didn't seem like he gave a flying fukk then. Proof getting his dome shot off is much more close to home than some kids in Florida on top of it...
The NRA lobbies for places like Detroit to continue to have guns freely roam those streets so the gun companies continue to make money. If I had to guess Proof isnt the only guy Eminem knew that has had his life taken from gun violence in the D.
I remember way more gun lines from Eminem than that

"I remember this one too:
When a dude's gettin bullied an shoots up a school
And they blame it on Marylin, and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where it's at!
Middle America, NOW IT'S A TRAGEDY
NOW IT'S SO SAD TO SEE, AN UPPER-CLASS CITY HAVING THIS HAPPENING"
Point is, those don't negate the rate at which shyt like that happens now, the reactions to it, the motives, the mechanics becoming more common knowledge. If the amount of fukkery concerning mass shootings hasn't changed your perspective to some degree, in either direction over the last two decades you're probably an idiot.
That also doesn't negate the fact that even if he felt that way, the song is still pandering to a particular crowd.
