Eminem is the prototype for cosign-dependent rappers

and the insecurities that come with their fanbases. When musical skill is shoddy/non-existent, a huge narrative and cosigns are essential.

Since Eminem, the three biggest cosign-dependent rappers are The Lame, Fraudye and Koondrick. You'll notice that in Fraud and Koon's cases, their stans are quick to talk about how they're respected by other musicians, how highly cacs rate them on Metacritic, how many Grammys they got... as defensive for shytty music.

Cosign-dependent rappers are some of the absolute woat because their stanbases aren't actually hip hop fans Lemme explain.

Eminem stans care only about Eminem. They will pretend to care about 'real hip hop' (especially from those who cosign Eminem) but ultimately they don't care about hip hop like that. Which is why Eminem will sell major units but his homie Royce will go stupid plastic, despite them making similar-style music at similar quality levels. Em stans listen to pop music more than hip hop.

This goes for Fraudye and K Dot Minaj. You can see them pretending to care about 'culture' but in reality, indie rock and pop are more their style.

There are obviously 2 types of cac Em fans and you can play obtuse all you want.

There's the backpack "Lil Wayne is trash" cacs who gave him a chance because he was white and got the Dre co-sign.

And the "Hip-hop is violent but Em talking about killing his mother and Ex-wife is deep and introspective" who gave him a chance because he's white.
