Finally read through most this thread & I gotta say I can say why people chose who they did on both sides. Me myself, I gotta say this was actually a hard decision but I'm gonna go with Em taking this shyt, just barely.
I had to listen to both songs a couple times to let that initialfactor fade away. I give it to Em based on the fact he had the hardest bars out of the two despite the fact I think the Kelly song was a way better put together song. I think Kelly came more direct & to the point with what he was trying to do with his shyt so even without knowing the whole backstory between them the shyt's pretty self contained. There's only a few lines where you kinda have to rewind in order to understand where he's coming from. I think Ems shyt came across as a glorified cypher, I can't even call the shyt a real song. I replayed the shyt more but it wasn't because the all the bars were hot, it was to make sure I really understood what his ass was saying. Goes back to the saying "If I have to explain the joke to you it's not a good joke", makes Kelly's dictionary shyt more potent.
At the end of the day this is a battle & I'm looking at the bars. Ems shyt was inconsistent with more filler & both had corny shyt. Bottom line the shyt was decent & when actually on point he had more brutal shots. Maybe it's the best he's been in years, I wouldn't know cause I haven't listened to Em in years, but this shyt is in no way impressive to me. Kelly started this shyt & had Rap devil ready to go when Em took the bait so I give him no points for a quick reply since Em was answering back on his album, not setting it off. I was expecting a body bag for Kelly & was severely disappointed. If Em woulda edited this shyt & structured it, but he didn't so fukk it.
Em: By decision, this was in no way a knockout & Kelly can still come back if he has any ammo left for a decent round 2.
