First time listening:

MGK’s record - ok this is a real diss record. The hook sucks but the punches are landing. Spit facts, was funny but also got personal for real. Better than expected.


Eminem’s record - starts off pretty good, giving Rihanna hickeys.. nothing fascinating but acceptable. Then he’s like he’d rather be himself at 80 than MGK at 20. I think the hardest line was about him naming himself after a gun but having a man bun. Em could def rap, but this was not it.


MGK takes this and it’s actually quite one-sided.. which was not expected.

2018 doesn’t care about an artist being able to cram 100 syllables in each bar. Eminem needs to tap back into that flow on “Patiently Waitin” if he wants to stand a chance with today’s audience. Off of first impressions, MGK’s diss hit harder. Joe on an Arab music track would definitely be able to put serious pressure on this 2018 Eminem. So what you will about Joe but at this point a track like “making a murderer” directly at Em would be a solid haymaker. It sucks cause a lot of people keep throwing the disclaimer out that they agree Em is incredibly talented with words. It’s just becoming more apparent with each track that Em is absolutely out of touch with today’s audience. If you listen to Joe Buddens podcast I agree 100% with Mal’s comments on Em.
I’ll give Em the benefit of the doubt though and run his track back a few more times and see if it changes my opinion.

To be honest,It's going to be hard for any rapper to win a battle against Eminem using racist tapes from 25-30 years ago when they've already been heard and he apologized for it.
