Nah you’re right. I agree.revovery is a way more enjoyable album than Revival imo, I think I’m the minority tho
I’m interested to check for this new one. MTBMB is his best effort in at least a decade.

I agree with all that too. Good post. I’m curious about the new stuff. Here's what I think:
I erased what I wrote originally, but when I think about Eminem, the reason why he can't make the same albums he used to is because he's not the same person. And I don't mean that he's older and more mature now. I mean, he's literally not the same person. There's no connection between the guy that made The Marshall Mathers LP and the guy that made The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Everything Eminem's done since Recovery feels like it was made by someone else. The Eminem that was around back in the day died after Encore, and Relapse was the bridge between that Eminem and the Eminem we have now. I don't know why that's the case. The drug addiction, then getting sober? Losing Proof? Not working with the Bass Brothers anymore, Dre taking a backseat? I can't figure it out, and it will take years to figure it out. But I honestly believe Eminem was a great MC and a great artist at one point. Now, he's a great MC and a decent artist, who can occasionally be a mediocre artist.
I will say this, though: One reason his music got worse is definitely him going back into production. Him not being the same person plays into that because his ear for music declined over time. Relapse was all Dre, Recovery and Hell: The Sequel were done by a variety of producers. It gave Eminem the chance to just focus on rapping, which he hadn't done since MMLP. But on MMLP 2, he decided to make beats again. When you combine that with his overthinking/perfectionism, his mind being wired an entirely different way from before, people who don't really tell him when something isn't working (except for Dre, Mr. Porter, and maybe Royce), and interference from the label........you get the last ten years of Eminem, specifically that period from 2014-2017 where he was making the absolute worst music of his career.
I don't believe in telling artists what they should do, but in Eminem's case, he really needs to stick with the path of making simple albums. Relapse was a simple album, Kamikaze was a simple album. They sound like they were both made in a few weeks because of how effortless they are. Revival sounds like it was made in three years, constantly changed and reworked because it wasn't good enough. Music to Be Murdered By was a mixture of both mindsets. I'm curious to see what path Eminem takes this decade.
Damn..I actually meant Relapse not Revival, Hence the minority comment, I’m sure most people agree Revival is trash through and throughNah you’re right. I agree.

MMLP 2 IS HIS BEST ALBUM OF THE 2010S IMO
THAT ONE WAS REALLY UNDERRATED
RECOVERY AND REVIVAL WAS WHACK AS HELL
KAMIKAZE WAS SOLID
MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY WAS DOPE
MMLP2 was some bullshyt breh, Bad Guy and the Buckshot track are the only two tracks I can think of that were redeemable, that’s his 2nd worst imo
Eminem Show
MMLP
SSLP
Recovery
Relapse
MTBMB
Encore
Kamikaze
MMLP2
Revival
Edit: had to double check the MMLP2 track list to make sure I wasn’t buggin, yeah...trash all the way through...Rhyme or Reason, Monster, Headlights, Love Game, Stronger Than I Was, So Far, Berzerk...Awful, Awful music
Those both had poppy Production with adult/grown up content, but only one had enjoyable songs, people hate on Revovery a lot, but Talkin 2 Myself, Goin Through Changes, 25 to Life, Spacebound and even Not Afraid are way better than almost anything on MMLP2I hated MMLP2, I get it was a grown approach towards it but it lacked Dre’s real input. It made Recovery look like a masterpiece compared to it.

Yeah that’s right, all those bonus tracks were better than 99% of anything on the albumMan that album was super trash to me, his second worst album. Bonus disc had a couple of joints but I don't revisit anything from that album.
We finally got a Kendrick and Em track and it was over a bullshyt rock sample by a washed Rick Rubin.

funny thing is I remember when Recovery dropped..forums were convinced it couldn’t get any worse lol
Edit: add the ones mentioned with On Fire, Session One, No Love, Cinderella Man, Seduction, So Bad, Cold Wind Blows...unpopular I know, but I fukk with Recovery
