Ok? Recovery went diamond worldwide. It's obvious white people are the driving force behind that one.

Everybody downloads, and there are only so many 'superstars' that you claim white people support, so that still doesn't account for 70% of rap albums sold being bought by whites.

And this stat comes from where or is it made up? When you buy an album from Best Buy or Target, is your nationality also scanned with each purchase? Where does this 65% figure come from? 65% or 70% , it's all bullshyt that's made up to act like Blacks don't support their own and have no purchasing power, plain and simple.

-MMLP and TES both sold twice as much.
-The superstars sales make up the majority of the sales during the year. This year Drake, Em and HOV likely will outsell the rest of the genres releases.
- and this was written in 2005 http://poplicks.com/2005/06/who-buys-hip-hop.html

If you want to keep thinking that its the black community who is driving sales go for it, but there is a reason big mainstreams hip hop artist release singles that appeal to white buyers....its the reality of the current state of hip hop.

You wrote some theories based on emotions and statistical percentages you came up with out of thin air...

What statistic did I throw out? What theory did I throw out? If you're going to claim white people were so heavy into rap in the 90's, you were probably born in '95.

No one in here is claiming that tho...reading comp. In the 90s blacks bought hip hop albums and supported with $$$. Once black people figured out they could save 15 bucks and download albums things changed. That has changed recently. In 2013 to put up big numbers hip hop artist have to appeal to the white buyer do you disagree?

(and yes i realize people from all races download music)

Who cares? Relapse sold 5 million worldwide and Recovery doubled it. I guess his sales is back on the upswing.

You just named THREE people who don't drop yearly, and Jay and Drake are essentially going to go double plat regardless of the situation. Do you know how many rap albums are released yearly, whether on a major or independent? Again, where does the 70% figure come from? Is nationality scanned with each purchase?

I'm not reading that. Either make the point of what it's saying (hopefully with some actual facts) or it's irrelevant.

Cool, I'll do that.

I can comprehend very well, and everything you're saying is essentially parroted off what someone else said. Where is the proof 70% of rap albums are bought by whites? If you can't prove that, nothing else to say really.

Where is the proof that they arent?

Just look at this board. There are avid black male hip hop fans who admit they havnt purchased an album in 10 years. You're living in the 90s

hip-hop buying patterns are largely reflective of the American population at large, though as the Journal points out, if only 60% of rap consumers are white, then that's far under their actual population rate in the U.S. (which is 78%)
- from a 2005 article http://poplicks.com/2005/06/who-buys-hip-hop.html

The majority of consumers in this country for hip-hop are in fact White. It is White-owned corporations that own the record labels that produce hip-hop. It is predominantly White-owned music channels like MTV that push the ghettoized image of Blacks on America, Black and White, because of their vested interest in portraying Blacks as exotic, dangerous and appealing to White suburbanites with a lot of disposable income.

:dahell: You're making the claim, so the burden of proof lies with you. I could tell you monsters live under my bed and I could go down to a secret world where they live and travel across the world with secret portals, but I can't ask YOU to prove that, can I? You can't 'prove' a negative.

Nobody gives a fukk about Eminem. I know he's y'all savior and all that, but no one cares. If he sold 1.4 million the first week, I wouldn't be surprised...or impressed.
