He's been putting out weak albums for years and still put up big numbers. What makes this time any different? Unless people are finally starting to realize that he fell off.
He's still had catchy pop songs though. The last one had Berzerk which his fanbase really liked and Monster which was pretty much a smash

300k is kind of a flop for Em, a star of his caliber would have at least expected gold first week. Those pure sale numbers aren't shocking

the lead single didn't hit with people.

Every first single Em had, forced or not, hit big

My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Lose Yourself, Just Lose It, Crack A Bottle, Not Afraid, Berzerk

all those songs were big hits

Walk On Water? not so much.

On top of that, people expected the hit single to be something forced but then the album would have heat. Word of mouth in 2017 spreads much faster than it used to, and it got around to people that this album was not that good. This album won't have legs going forward.

Jigga did less first week than Em but at least Jigga had that built in deal with Sprint and critical acclaim. Em before you know it will sell less than TWO Post Malone albums

Marshall Mathers LP 2 did like 750k fw

So was that all off being the sequel to his best album :ohhh:

Rap God also connected a lot more than that seater song. Both albums trash tho

How exactly did Eminem lose ?

Poor rollout by Interscope
Very little promo by Eminem
No hit
Not much radio play
Attacked his fan base

And still sold 300k.

Saying "people are not checking for Eminem" is just stupid.....If Eminem never went at his fan base,he would have sold 600k+....If he also had a hit record to coincide with the release of his album,he would have sold 750k-1,000,000

Crack A Bottle went #1 on the Hot 100 with no video

Berzerk was a top 3 hit. The Monster just happened to be a much bigger hit than that one.

EDIT: and we were into Rap God too much to wonder how Berzerk was doing
