Eminem was really flowing his ass off on Relapse

the best thing about this album was Dr. Dre & Em's chemistry, you can tell they are both a perfect combination. almost all of the music they made together is better than majority of the music without his help. the content is but skillwise it's Em's best since his return. Relapse Refill is alot better IMO.

Let me say this, if Em had half the artistic balls and conviction as Kendrick Lamar Relapse would've been a classic concept/creative record. Em is a record exec/label head lab dog. Dude has no artistic back bone. We made you and crack a bottle had no business being on the album. How My Darling was scrapped when it's clear it was meant to be the intro to this failed concept album was shameful.

It all started to go down hill when people hyped up his verse on Forever after being disappointed with Relapse. That was the beginning of the end. Ditched the Relapse style and started fukking with the double time and corny metaphors.

It's even more frustrating because clearly the passion is still there. Dude is just a hermit surrounded by yes men who won't tell him this Recovery style is wack.

otherworldly talent who is overly managed by a big label which admittedly successfully turned him into a pop star but something got lost in the process.
Ironically his shtick was built to succeed in this era, there's a market for a white rapper spittin gibberish and borderline offensive shyt. Action Bronson made a career out of it
But he seems so uncomfortable in his own skin, it's a shame. All this is encapsulated in Dre's 'I Need a Dr' single

That 2nd verse on insane is so ridiculous that sometimes I think the beat was riding the flow

As much criticism as he gets for being a misogynist, women are the reason why he blew up in the first place. They thought he was cute so they let the shyt slide. The girl on the hook singing "we're the ones that made you", especially after such a fukked up record like "same song and dance" makes perfect sense. It kinda lightens the mood a little bit after a pretty vivid skit and song about kidnapping women.

Like yeah...that was fukked up, but you were the ones that made me this big of a star.

There's a lot of dudes that are goats from a technical standpoint dropping wack music overall.

When Crack A Bottle is one of the best beats on your album, you have a problem. Em totally lost his ear for beats, and it started way before Relapse. I like the booklet that came with it though
