I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Once I found that out this morning, I decided to put this album in for a spin for the first time since 2001/02. I remember when this album dropped, the summer of 00 could've been retitled the summer of Eminem because you couldn't go anywhere without hearing dozens of white people bumping it or turn on the tv without seeing Em on MTV or BET.

Rap was once again thrown into the political spotlight with politicians throwing shade at it and I always remember the funny interviews with non rap artists when they were randomly asked about the album.

Songs I still like: "Kill You," "Stan." "I'm Back," "Remember Me?," "The Way I Am," "Marshall Mathers," "bytch Please 2," and "Criminal." I never cared for the first big single "The Real Slim Shady" and "Kim" is hard to listen to now. :picard:. That may have to do with the fact that I'm two decades older now.

Most consider this to be his best work, but I remember that I liked two of his other albums (SSLP and TES) a a lot more (although to be fair, I haven't listened to TES in a decade either.) It's nice to remember a time where Em wasn't a glorified male version of Rachel Maddow with a beard.

Anyway, this should be a good discussion if it picks up. Any reflections on the album now that it's turned two decades old?

X had one of the best verses

I'm the Head nikka In Charge, I'm watchin' you move
You're found dead in your garage
With ten o'clock news coverage
Gotta love it 'cause I expose the facade
Your little lungs is too small to hotbox with God
All jokes aside, come bounce with us
Standin' over you with a 12 gauge, about to bust
It's like ashes to ashes and dust to dust
I might leave in a bodybag, but never in cuffs
So who do you trust? They just not rugged enough
When things get rough I'm in the club shootin' with Puff
bytch, please! You must have a mental disease
Assume the position and get back down on your knees
Come on

Sticky Fingaz verse was a standout, this is why Em needs to make music with more artists of that caliber

[Verse 2: Sticky Fingaz]
nikkas that take no for an answer get told no
Yeah, I been told no, but it was more like “No! No! No!”

Life's a bytch, met her, fukk you if you let her
Better come better than better to be a competitor
This vet is ahead of the shyt, it's all redder, you deader and deader
A medic instead of the cheddars and credda
Settle vendetta with metal Beretta from ghetto to ghetto
Evidence, nope, never leave a shred of
I got the soul of every rapper in me, love me or hate me
My mom's got raped by the industry and made me
I'm the illest nikka ever, I told you
I get more p*ssy than them dyke bytches Total
Want beef, nikka? Pbbt, you better dead that shyt
My name should be Can't-Believe-That-nikka-Said-That-shyt
Probably sayin' he ain't a killer, but I'm killin' myself
Smoke death, fukk bytches raw on the kitchen floor
So think what I'ma do to you, have done to you
Got nikkas in my hood who'd do that shyt for a blunt or two
What you wanna do? Cocksuckers, we Glock busters
'Til the cops cuff us, gon' start ruckus and drop blockbusters
Round the clock hustlers, you cannot touch us
I'm gettin' wires, nikkas wantin' me dead
Wantin' my head, you think it could be somethin' I said?
