msims I don't represent the black community, I represent myself.
I don't agree with the Till line by Wayne, but I do listen to Hip Hop that's content is fueled by materialism and self destruction.
With Hip Hop I feel there's a certain amount of respect to be shown, as there's a difference between making up stories and singling a certain person that actually died, especially as a youth.
Neither of them are right, it's not exactly a good thing that as black people we have to fabricate stories of destroying black communities and black people with violence and drugs to look cool, but it's definitely not a good thing to single out a factual event and glorify it as if Tills name is meaningless, when in reality it means a lot more and should be taken with seriousness because like all of our names, when our names are said they aren't meaningless words like "bye" or "love" but they actually represent a whole history of a person, and Tills history isn't a name to be out in the same sentence as "p*ssy".
Tarantino films, some of them are good, some of them are bad. I don't respect the fact that he seems to be quite comfortable with using the N-Word often in his films, but I don't complain. Why not? Because I'm simply not a fan and I don't support his work, I don't support his work, meaning that I really don't have a right to complain about it because in my mind doesn't exist and that's because I don't pay attention to it. Which is how I deal with a lot of things.
