I asked a group of young women this before a few years ago. (Mixed group)
Their perspective was that the innocent folks who are falsely accused are worth being collateral damage to more women being believed. A sort of necessary sacrifice to them and they saw the men as nothing more than numbers
Black women generally though are much more sympathetic here

It’s a damn shame and infuriating, but unfortunately so. She was able to live beyond life expectancy, married twice, have children, grandchildren, probably great-grandchildren, and live a modest middle class-lower middle class lifestyle upon multiple relocations. All of that without any punishment/justice meted (legally or vigilante style).
If vile demons like her were told around that time (pre-Civil Rights) that is the more than likely endgame for virtually putting a hit on an innocent young black male, they would sign up in droves for that. That’s not even accounting the small tokens and gestures she probably received from her community such as donations, meals and services ‘on the house’
