I wish him the best, I’ll always show love to athletes from the State of MI.

Based on everything I’ve seen, I have no clue how he was ever regarded as a #1 overall recruit…the explosiveness isn’t there, maybe it was his skill relative to the competition he was facing? Or the media just being always thirsty to find the next Bron? His game and athleticism just doesn’t jump off the page as “5* top 5 national recruit”
I totally understand how it happened. They got caught projecting. His skillset at 6'7 as a 9th grader was special. As everyone else starts catching up skillwise and also continues growing, while your game and skillset stay stagnant, you start to get passed by some of those guys. Even as this was happening the media that crowned him was hesitant to uncrown him until they were absolutely sure he wasn't that guy, because there's no story in "Perhaps we were a little bit early on labeling this guy:patrice:" but there always seems to be plenty attention for "Hey, look how this guy we considered great has turned out to be an absolute failure!". They'll run that story into the ground.

I sincerely hope he can turn it around at Eastern though, cause I'd love to see a fellow Eagle with a major redemption story. And hopefully his dad has learned a lesson and takes a little bit more of a hands off approach, but we'll see.

Name the last good wing with a negative wingspan
Desmond bane

But the list is short

A short wingspan implies that when he hits the weight room he'll be able to pack on muscle faster, but by the time he gets to the age where he can put on weight he'll probably be undrafted

He was taller than everyone at one point so he got KD comparisons and then he stopped growing. Everyone caught up to him.

Still looks frail

He should workout away from the cameras. This is not helping him.
He's not particularly quick or strong...you gotta be one of those things. Like it seems as if he REALLY struggles to get his shot off, on college defenders. He wasn't ready for the college game yet. Dude is going to have to grind hard.

explosiveness is overrated

but the spatial awareness & super.natural feel for distance timing angles is even more rare

emoni would be fine if he had that real deal hoop genius cerebral type play style

*
He reminds me of Quinton Grimes. Where they look bad as college freshman but two more years of college ball, they will be underrated

Jimmy Butler is close...a little T-Rex ish.
His wingspan is much closer to his height than most elite wings but it's still not a negative ratio.
He's more of a two guard and their is plenty with negative or neutral wingspans but for wings, Jimmy has a neutral wingspan. Kevin Huerter does too.
A 2 is a wing, especially once they're over 6'5". Neutral =/negative. What good 2 guard or 3 has a negative wingspan? If Kevin Huerter is Emoni's ceiling he has a problem.
