mannnnn...i'm about to whoop these cacs ass!!!

I always thought time and a half was TIME AND A HALF ( as in hourly rate x 1.5 x hours worked over) but these cacs at my job done created division problems and all types of shyt out of my overtime...they really fukkin us by giving us an uncompensated hour lunch period everyday that we don't ever get to take (i work in lawn care --trash i know, i'm out after my moms receives her disability check)...i know by federal law they can't classify it as an actual lunch break, because lunch breaks consist of break where we're completely relieved of our duties...they tryna tell me since they were going through the Department of Agricultural, they adhere to a different set of laws...

why nikkas gotta go through this fukk shyt just to get a check :francis:

I've heard of places doing this all the time. You should talk to the department of labor but chances are you may not get anywhere. There are rules against them retaliating for you bringing up a complaint but they usually get creativ because all they have to do is not mention the complaint to get you in trouble

Talk to a labor lawyer, they'll in a lot of cases will consult you for free.

I can tell you from the sounds of it, this is illegal.

eCFR — Code of Federal Regulations

§785.19 Meal.
(a) Bona fide meal periods. Bona fide meal periods are not worktime. Bona fide meal periods do not include coffee breaks or time for snacks. These are rest periods. The employee must be completely relieved from duty for the purposes of eating regular meals. Ordinarily 30 minutes or more is long enough for a bona fide meal period. A shorter period may be long enough under special conditions. The employee is not relieved if he is required to perform any duties, whether active or inactive, while eating. For example, an office employee who is required to eat at his desk or a factory worker who is required to be at his machine is working while eating. (Culkin v. Glenn L. Martin, Nebraska Co., 97 F. Supp. 661 (D. Neb. 1951), aff'd 197 F. 2d 981 (C.A. 8, 1952), cert. denied 344 U.S. 888 (1952); Thompson v. Stock & Sons, Inc., 93 F. Supp. 213 (E.D. :obama:

Even if you meant .5, that's not a premium.

"The additional amount given to employees for the overtime hours. Usually this is the "half-time" in time and one-half. For example, if an employee's hourly pay rate is $10 per hour and the employee works 41 hours in a week, the overtime premium is $5per hour."
