What exactly does pulling the plug mean?

I doubt they will stop supporting it, I doubt games will stop being made for it.

If anything they might just stop production of the console.

I don't think anyone thinks that the ps3 will just stop working one day. I think it's understood that were referring to the console no longer being actively supported by Sony.

Every ps3 has a kill switch, they do this so you will be forced to buy a ps4
