Nah as shytty as Xbox has been these past 2 gens, Sony needs a direct competitor to foster creativity and competition. Nothing goods from a stagnant games market.

Like I said before, Phil needs to kick rocks and Xbox needs to find its identity cause being the home of the biggest floundering western IPs ain’t it.

Sony are going to continue to try and improve their own margins on their own. Microsoft doesn’t really factor into the work Sony has to put in to improve profits.

Xbox hasn’t posed a real threat to playstation in over 15 years and we’ve gotten some of the best gaming experiences on the PS in that time

Why shouldn't they exit the video game business in general then? The logic doesn't work out. Their console is struggling because of mediocre software output so they should stop making hardware and focus on making mediocre software for other consoles?

This is like telling someone who owns a home outright they should sell their home and rent. Why would they give up ownership of their own to rent somebody else's property. They own their own platform and have a level of control on it they don't on other platforms.

Microsoft should focus on making better software. When that happens the rest will sort itself out.

Their next console will be their last. They lasted longer than most, in large part due to the resources they could afford to pour into a dying brand, whereas others without that luxury were forced to bow out once the well ran dry. I'm just interested in seeing who will step in.
