Mixing ain't like tying your shoes, it takes years to master (no pun intended). You gonna have to read books, watch videos, go to forums dedicated to it.

It's not a question of "who". No one person is going to teach you mixing.

Oh I know, that's why my mixing suck sometimes. My issues Are 1. Bass drum distortion and 2. Exactly levels for certain instruments and 3. Stereo dimensions (full sounds) . In all honesty I personally don't dwell on mixes because I'm an older cat who enjoys old mixtapes so mixing never was as important as the beat but I lost a couple placements due to it not being up to today's standards

Are you fukking sure that the Youtube vid is in mono (for whatever reason, accidental or not) and that the actual song is in stereo?

Unless you can PROVE that the official song is in stereo, this thread is baseless. It's like accusing a rapper of having shytty quality because they uploaded some video in 360p and not 1080p, when their actual song is in pristine quality.

I don't doubt that these guys would fukk things up, though.

True. Well that's the first thing I thought... like yea they upped a mono version just for youtube. But then I listened to their other OFFICIAL songs/video on youtube.. no flex zone and no type. They both are in stereo...

Did my googles and didn't find any direct mp3 to download at the time... I guess they noticed and tried to add some stereo widening effects or remixed the beat. They released it again on audio mack a few days ago. There is soooo many phase issues.. hard to say this track was mixed properly especially with the other 3 tracks out sounding 10x better. Wish it was tho because honorable c notes beats usually knock w/ crazy 808ss

haha na breh... just trying to see what other engineers/producers think. We already battle with our music being as LOUD as possible but still dynamic because of producers like "mike will made it". I'm just hoping he doesn't push this mono shyt too much because if he does people will follow..

Engineer's mixing trap music have to compete with SUPER LOUD shyt like this...

the most important parts of most songs are centered anyway

like lead instrument melody, main vocal, kick and snare

most of what you listen to isn't really taking advantage of stereo like that

oh wow some background vocals are panned 30%, how great

eeeeeeh. there is different between centered and stereo. lead melody could be dead center but in stereo with different elements panned left or right.

I used to make mono versions of songs I was gonna play when I was doing dj'ing in lil clubs. The people in a club aren't gonna hear any panning

shame that sound quality has gone out the window. planning on going back to school soon to knock out this 2 year recording and engineering program, really think i would hate it if i ever had to mix this loud ass, tinny shyt though.

lately everything i hear coming out of (i assume) big studios is either entirely too clean and over produced or it's mixtape status.
