Other than Illmatic and It Was Written you can also argue Stillmatic and the Lost Tapes had better production.
nas is the goat. but it's not because he's consistent. it's because when he's at his best, no one can hold a fukking candle to him.
with that in mind, he has maybe two albums that are better. and if anyone wanted to debate one i wouldn't have a problem with it. MBDTF is that damn good, imo.
lyrically? kanye cant touch nas. we all know this.
but production wise? what nas album other than illmatic is sonically on-par with MBDTF, top to bottom? probably/possibly it was written. that's it.
every other album has at least 1-5moments that make u think this nikka checks for beats with actual beets wedged in his ears.
Also Life is Good can be argued, it's cinematic, modern but nostalgic at the same time. Kanye doesn't have a beat more beautiful than the xylophone on "One Love".
As for this it's not surprise, these people know nothing about hip hop.

Lost tapes isn't really an album. It's a vaults release. The fact those cuts weren't released, and shyt like brave heart party was, is my point.
Stillmatic has rule, brave heart party and my country. Nope.
Life is Good is nowhere in the same league as mbdtf. C'mon. There's like a three song run around summer on smash where that album nosedives. Then it gets amazing again when stay hits.
I know ye makes it easy to hate his ass. But mbdtf is still one of the most amazing albums I have ever heard.
