Shazzy switched up her og style for some gangster posturing and flopped her way out of game :russ:
she was college educated and bougie on her first joint

When I looked her up, I couldn’t figure out which came first, so this makes sense :russ: NWA really hit the scene and made people get out of character. I’m so glad that ‘Everybody went gangsta in 1993/4” thread was made. Exposed a lot of nonsense.

Its strange how this got into everyone's algorithm around the same time.

I really appreciate being able to go back and catch those vibes. The style, slang, programming, shyt even the commercials were cool af. I'm a 90s baby so I only can remember an episode or two from the 2000s and probably why the 1997+ episodes interest me most. That semblance of culture is long lost.
Too much flossing...
Too much Sam Rothstein....

95 to 2005 all I care about
Funny, cause to me, that's when it started falling off... '96 or so...and by the time it switched to Big Tigger in the basement it was definitely over for me. I guess everyone has different golden years based on their age.

Yeah I was thinkin of that thread too cause I had said that while NWA/Death Row was flyin high,East Coast MCs was taking on the NBN/Onyx Style in the name of "Hardcore"

Crazy to think how much media from the 90's would not exist if someone didn't record on their VHS and save it all these years.
I have a ton of Rap City episodes recorded from 98-06 but never thought to record the commercials

DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
This..

AFTER 2007, BET became worst.

Rap City died in Fall 2008. Luckily 106 & Park was hanging on a limb.

Even Cartoon Network became terrible.

Rap City was a good promotional tool. We see your video, we went out and brought the CD the next week
106 & Park was completely dead once AJ & Free left

I wouldn't say it was completely dead....

Terrance J and Rocsi had some entertaining moments during their run

-Terrance treating Rocsi like Future does these thots

- Webbie hitting on Rocsi and Terrance K "supposedly" getting him banned
