Tbh i see that analogy. Its similar to when someone says they dont date black dudes/women or something but thats her/his "preference".
They technically arent saying they like both and prefer one more. They straight up are saying "none of that race" lol
So i see some truth in that analogy...because even with "fat" define fat. Because there's some thicker chicls i'd still fukk, and some that just have terrible porportions etc so its like...no. So the preference thing people talk about tends to lack nuance like that

Also, if you don't like oranges but you like apples then it's a valid preference. so saying you prefer in-shape women can also mean you don't like fat women. it doesn't mean you'll still be with fat women, but you prefer in-shape women. like you can simply not like fat women. it's a stupid analogy from her.

Usually when i say i prefer an orange over an apple, it tends to mean ill still fukk with an apple but I like oranges more. (Which is true, i like oranges more but i still eat apples.)
If i straight up dont like apples, i just say "nah i dont like apples" i dont say i "prefer oranges" lol but maybe thats me.
