Because it's not rocket science. Its a mentality which is hard to teach.

How to start a business is completely different
And it's the "what" and the "how" where folks get stumped.

The mentality is not THAT difficult to come by. Almost every person hustlin' illegally, for example, has an entrepreneurial mindset. The finer details of how to direct that mindset at somethin' legal is what they're missin'.

Similar for cats out here sellin' socks & oils. The mindset is there. The knowledge is not.

That involves something else nikkas hate doing

Going to the library to read books.

Aka research. One day someone will encapsulate the business process in one youtube video and then cats will have another reason why they cant.

I'm saying the mentality to be successful creates the interest to do homework

:pacspit:fukk a rich old cac all their advice is targeted towards their own kind, they'll be damned if a black man comes up with a billion dollar business

plus they sayin some generic shyt liike "when you invest go big" "it takes a lot of hard work"
tumblr_inline_mi575oLrLE1qz4rgp.gif

wheres the quotes that say "i made a ton of business connections cause im cac" "daddy gave me 100k start up capital"...and that one lady "i suckked a lot of dikk to get where i am" :camby:
This.

I'd rather hear a success story from a dude like 50 cent, a black man from the ghetto who made it from nothing to something, than some rich cac who was born in and was young in a time when my people were getting shot at with firehoses and had to drink from seperate water fountains. And more than likely hates my black ass.

I feel what you're saying, but there are certain factors that make their success different than a black man trying to make it.

One) They have white privilege and can move in certain circles black people have no access to and are shut out of
Two) They have access to resources that black people do not
Three) They have connections, nepotism, and can actually make short cuts without making sacrifices.

I learned alot on my journey to my latest job...the one thing that stuck out was...being a black man in America...you are alone. Period. No one will help you.

We don't have an "invisible knapsack" of resources to take from and use to further our lives.

Alright, straight up and down I was fukking homeless for a while breh. HOMELESS. If I was white? You best believe I could of found somebody to take me in for a while so I wouldn't have to sleep in my car. You best believe I could of had somebody give me a chance to make money, and hell, maybe even offer me some work and maybe get a human interest story out of it. Which would lead to money coming my way.

But nah, rather than complain, I just used fast food restaurant internet for a while to send out job applications/resumes/update my blogs/send important e-mails, made good relationships with people that worked there so I wouldn't get kicked out for loitering, went without showers for a while, took showers at gyms using free passes I registered for online, went without eating for a while, basically making sacrifices.

3 months later? I was in a boardroom on Wall Street.

So there, as a black person, that did everything possible...from making the best out of my college education, getting internships, graduating with a 3.9GPA, and having a degree...I still managed to end up in poverty and on the streets...but then again, I managed to work my way out of that situation to something better...

WHY? CAUSE I HAD NO CHOICE!

Becoming rich and successful is not an option...it's cause YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION FOR SURVIVAL.

That's reality for the average black person without connections.

That why I'd rather hear the advice from black people who made it, cause we all know we have ten times more obstacles in our paths...and those who did can honestly be seen as the best of the best, cause they made it even though the odds were against them.

No offense, but these dudes in the videos in the OP had 95% of their success laid out for them.
But black people are giving the same advice. The principles dont change.
It's just most people don't have the core principles in them.

Like do you really believe you can't fail and you will win no matter what?

Basically classicism.

Classicism and racism are two different things.

White people dont go through the latter and we go through both.
Poor white people can actually fake being middle...to even upper class.

We can't do that shyt as black people...

I read a story in the New York Times Magazine a couple of years back about how some white neckbeard hipster was mistaken for Seth Rogen for a night and got to get in these expensive clubs VIP tables and executive suites in hotel rooms that cost $5,000 a night...what black person you know can even get in those circles?

I agree. Especially about the core principles...I try to soak up as much as I can.

I'm writing about my trials and tribulations so I can learn and help others.

Yes, some people will win, some people will lose, but if you continue working hard at your goal...you will get somewhere...it might not be where you want to be but it will be somewhere better than where you were before. I mean, I wouldn't of made something of myself if I stayed in Pittsburgh...I had to take risks, I had to make sacrifices, I had to do what I could to reaffirm where I wanted to be and where I didn't want to be and sometimes it's that personal affirmation that makes up the belief in one's self and the belief in being successful...that leads to success.

I swear the even in a non race thread race ends up as the topic smh, some of you "coli militants" try too hard man
I actually like that people here are thinking for themselves and not blindly taking every thing that's presented to them as gospel without questioning it atleast once. I would not like to be around or even post in a forum of dumb ass accepting sheep that aren't even looking at hypotheticals.

You can pretty much market and sell anything with the internet these days...you can analyze trends and whatnot and get a visible idea of what the market is going to be like before it even materializes itself. I like that.

I am just mentioning the difference between a white and black businessman.

No more, no less.
I can tell you were.

I don't like how people are trying to flip what you're saying to say "you think you're going to fail cause you're black" or some other stuff makes it seem like you have low self-esteem or something.

No you don't...being out here in NYC, there's a difference with how money and wealth works, and to deny how it works for black people compared to whites is disingenuous. And this is a city with plenty of black millionaires so I don't go out here thinking I can't...or whatever...people need to stop with that fukkshyt.

Dudes is literally making excuses for themselves... Defeated already.
No one's making excuses....you got no choice as a black man to succeed cause to fail is to starve and die.

It's just smart to analyze one's surroundings, and observe the current space and time you're occupying in.

By the way, I feel that I'm a unique soul on this board cause I'm a black man that doesn't worship or see himself in black athletes and rappers...a perspective that I feel is not very prevalent on this board.

Cause I know there are brothas out there that want to make money outside of that realm...which is more realistic than pursuing any of that. Anything that actually makes money makes sense.

IT, real estate, contract work, its all about finding one avenue to make money from and then once you got that you can expand.

I'm still trying to get into the game myself, but I'm always looking for ways to proliferate any sort of discussion involving the black experience into a realistic one. We aren't whites, we can't do exactly what they do and expect the same results? How is that admitting defeat?

You don't have to like them, but taking the advice of billionaires regardless if they're white or not is never a bad idea. Take what they say and adjust it to your lifestyle being a black man. Disregarding their advice because they aren't black is stupid at best.
Man you have to realize where you at. You got some cats stunting and fronting on here for dap/rep.

I do wonder if they are unable to read because they think I'm saying to give up or embrace defeat.

I guess racial talk makes them feel "uncomfortable" :mjpls:

They are trying to tell us all to play the game while I'm trying to change it to where black people benefit. Something that based on their reaction is very foreign to them.
