I got into Hip Hop in 2003 during 50's wave. Eventually I went back and listened to the classics and I became a fan and learned more about the genre. No need to be ashamed if you didn't get into Hip Hop in the 90s. You can't help what came before your time.

That's exactly what I'm saying, no-one can help when they are born but to lie is desperate and fraudulent. I guess he lied because he was in his 20's I think so didn't want to admit he hadn't heard Illmatic by then and also to try and give him more credibility within a debate, which just reeks of desperate.

My first Nas album was IWW back in 97. I didn't even know Illmatic (the album) existed until 2003. I was 10 in 1994, by the way.
