Well, I think if Kevin McCarthy, a relatively reasonable and moderate R, wins the majority leadership, there may be some hope to get some things done. The problem will be if some teabag like Jeb Hensarling wins the leadership.

I don't know if if this is possible, but I'd like Cantor to not immediately resign as leader, and to say fukk the tea party and get some shyt passed in his lame duck months before January. Boehner's probably gonna retire at the end of the year as speaker, so why not go all in on these fukkbois.

It's just funny because Cantor wasn't some RINO or center-right Republican. I'd bet there's no real meaningful difference in overall policy preferences between him and his challenger. The Tea Party isn't that much more extreme in the policies they push than "establishment" Republicans.
