Eric Jerome dikkey, a New York Times best-selling author, has died at the age of 59. His publicist confirmed that dikkey died on Sunday, January 3 in Los Angeles “after battling a long illness.” Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no services. Throughout his prolific career, dikkey wrote 29 novels, many of which became cultural touchstones for African American contemporary life. Several of his works became New York Times best sellers, including Milk in My Coffee, Cheaters, Chasing Destiny, and Thieves’ Paradise.

Above the fray.
Rest in Peace

I might be confusing him with another writer but a few women I dated during a certain period were huge fans of his. Think I went with one of them to a book signing at Barnes & Noble.

My parents used to try and get me to read his books, but they always struck me as novels tailored to a certain demo in our community.
