There was some dude stalking her and would follow her from state to state at different hotels and film her through the peep holes of her hotel room. In one of the incidents in 2009 at a Marriott in Nashville, it was determined that he called the hotel and asked for Erin Andrews room. When they gave him the room number he went to the front desk and requested the room adjacent to hers. Pretty much a shyt ton of negligence on behalf of the hotel and their staff which eventually led to the guy putting a camera in her peep hole and filming her while nude. One of the videos leaked. The stalker got a arrested and did 3 years. Erin Andrew sued him, and the hotels involved for $75 million. This suit has been going on for 7 years and the judge just awarded her $55 million.

Marriott actually got of lucky, as he is very high profile and that video (overrated) spread through the Zeigeist like wildfire. If they had to pay a couple bucks for everyone who saw it, people would be staying at Andrews.

Completely different. Wal Mart corp lost that suit. There is no way around it for them. They could fight in court for years but they realized that Tracy got the lawyers and the money so they just settled. For them, they had to make sure this wasn't a PR hit and there was no way around it. Marriott Intl got out of it and they ultimately won even though the PR hit will be hard.

The hotel. They pay what the other co-defendant is unable to pay. If Tennessee laws have restrictions on joint and several liability, that's a different story.
