SOHH ICEY N.O.
I think i read somewhere that before Teflon Don dropped he owed Def Jam like 5 albums. So this will be his third. I don't know if the general public has enough interest in him for two more albums.
This is his last album on def jam, same as jeezy, who knows where he goes after this

Nope sorry, disagree.

Not all music is about reflection. Music can also be about feeling. The reason people like Ross is because they like the feeling his music gives them when they listen to him.

Is Doggystyle not a timeless record? Tell me... what did you learn about Snoop's "dreams, fears, and weaknesses" after listening to Gin N Juice?

That ain't what you said though. You said:

If you knew the man behind the music and you knew about his weaknesses and his imperfections then the music wouldn't have that same type of power behind it.

Which is obviously bullshyt, because there is several rappers (and musicians in general) that pour their heart and soul into their music and they have a much deeper legacy than the Rick Rosses of the world.

Besides, I said:

I'm not saying every rap song needs to be on some autobiographical shyt.

Fred.

Listen, if someone said Rick Ross is one of the, if not, the most lyrical rapper to come out in the last 10 years, I wouldn't dispute that. Frankly, nobody should. Rick Ross can make hits, he actually has lyrics, can make a song, has versatility in his song choices, etc. He doesn't have a weak album (God Forgives was disappointing, not weak though).

HOWEVER

How can nikkas stand behind the man's persona til this day? Particularly, other nikkas in the game. nikkas like Meek and French, nikkas who were apparently certified in the streets. How can you rock with a nikka who lied about his persona this much? How do you stand by that? If you lie about what you truly are, how do you know he aint gon do it again over shyt that might concern you in the future? The real Ricky Ross got outta jail with no paper, he could've stood by Rozay the rapper and would've ate off him and rolled with him. But nah, the man knew what the game was about and couldnt fukk with that fugazy shyt.

If the man came out from the get-go by himself stating he used to be a C.O., for real a lot of nikkas might let that slide. Aint nobody ever heard about a CO who's a rapper.

All the recent successful rappers that blew immediately had a story. Eminem was white and very controversial, 50 got shot 9 times, Drake could sing and rap for all audiences. The general population who buys records ate that shyt... and they would've with this too.

Now a crooked CO? It sounds like a movie and it actually happened. nikkas who been locked will tell you there are some cool CO's (they dont talk, let shyt slide, smuggle contraband, let you up a little after hours, etc) but this nikka lied.

In 2012 when he came clean, this what he said

WHAT THE fukk?????? THAT'S YOUR REASON FOR BEING A CO?

I have nikkas in the pen and others waiting now for whatever attempts, conspiracy, guns and drugs if I genuinely wanted to "wash my hands" and am actually saddened, AM I GONNA BECOME A fukkING CO? I understand if he went to outreach the youth, but no, his scapegoat for being a CO (which was for his own reason) was to gain some sympathy off his friend who caught a case.

On top of that, he "still sold drugs". Heavy quotation there if he actually did.

People can call rappers like Drake emotional, Macklemore a gay cac, Kendrick boring, etc etc. But at least them nikkas are who they are, they don't sugarcoat it, they dont get outta pocket.

Ross in interviews blabbers off sometimes with random shyt, just like in the video posted, he'll try to seem like a macho man but around inferior nikkas. nikkas who have jobs and arent willing to lose them (journalists, TMZ, etc). They just gon let him talk.

I rate Ross's music, but I can't rate the man, and I don't see how others can too.
Here's the thing, nobody is who they say they are who they are pretending to be. We are all walkin talking contradictions. You got idiots saying Ross doesn't reflect in his songs, the imbecile who said that doesn't listen to Ross at all besides what's on the radio.

None of you know none of these rappers or who they are affiliated with but if the rap about them then it's all gravy. Funny how you post quotes from Rolling Stone but forgot to mention that the man he said to be a co was a major drug kingpin and his son was also heavy in the game. But none of that fits into your anti Ross agenda.

Till this day I have yet to see rickross try to sell anyone large quantities of narcotics in an interview, so what is this character he refuses to break?

His style is very predictable at this point. He is where DMX was in late 2001: tried and true formula is predictable. I know his album will sell, but deep down, people know that he can't keep that image up for much longer.

exactly what is Ross formula?
because beside from a few songs, gfid was a very good album and i surely would welcome more music like that from him

You right, but they were promoted as singles. That sound is beyond old at this point. As bad as boom-bap sound was in the mid 00s right before it got flushed out of the mainstream. A new sound from a New MC for a new generation is what the rap game needs.
