He's got a very young kid but I don't think he's married
Wonder if having a kid made him want to really put his foot down and make sure he's good financially forever
I will say it seems like when he's not on tour he's always at home. When people record music with him it's like 95% of the time at his house
He’s been doing that rap camp thing at his home for a minute but I’m more talking about the touring aspect of it - he’s toured with Larry, Gibbs and Badu all in the past three months, as well as doing festivals, etc - plus these spots are like Japan, Europe so they ain’t exactly close. And he was touring internationally before that as well - his work rate is on another level. He starts early in the morning and finishes early afternoon, remember him saying it in an interview, still has most of his day
I don’t think it’s even him tbh - it’s no surprise that the two albums he’s worked on this year where there’s been fukkery with the release are the Badu and Mos albums, both of whom are not exactly known for dropping on a regular basis. Never has any issues when he drops with Larry, Gibbs, Spitta, Roc, etc and a lot of these he does videos for, tours and does press runs with the release. Dude did a whole short film before Alfredo 2 dropped loolDisappointing but i'm not gonna shyt on Al too bad when he's already put in a lot of work this year. We'll hear it when we hear it.

The only way I can see this being an ALC problem is if there is a sample issue - he releases three times a year at a minimum though so he’s too seasoned in his process to let an issue like that fukk up what could be the biggest project he’s done to date. Plus I expect this would have a lot more live elements than the projects he usually releases.
100%. I think artists like Badu and Mos are very precious with the creative process to the point that it’s hard to get them to release anything which is why they don’t have a lot material out (in comparison to the years they’ve been in the game). ALC releases at a high clip because he doesn’t overthink the creative process anymore - it’s something that he said he picked up from working with Curren$y.Facts, Alc doesn't fukk around and hes proven time and again that he gets quality music out on schedule.
This has to be a Badu issue.
Alchemist is crashing out on Twitter telling people to show him where he said the album was coming out today….someone posted the newsletter and he said that’s nothing to do with him looolI don’t really think that they’ve been promoting the actual album that hard tbh - they’ve been pushing the tour but they’ve not committed to a release date via press release, social media, etc - it’s all hear say….
They should be able to build enough traction on this off the strength that this is Badu’s first album in 15 years so if it’s a ‘surprise’ release then there will be a shift in momentum once the word is out. At the moment though, I don’t hear anyone talking about this except the hardcore fans that are usually locked in. I would thought the buzz for this would’ve been crazy since this is Badu’s first project for a decade and a half - maybe the response to the first single put a spanner in the works and they’re being more cautious on what they’re releasing beforehand…..
I just saw on IG last week that from 2010 to now Alc has over 70 projects if you include collabs, solos, and beat tapes. Pretty crazy. He took 5 years between 1st Infantry and Chemical Warfare with only a couple mixtapes in between like No Days Off and Chemistry Files. If you include EPs, instrumental albums, etc, I wouldn’t be surprised if ALC has released close to 100 projects since Badu dropped her last album lol. It’s definitely over 50….
That's where I stand. This summer has been so hot for music. It'll drop sooner than later. And again, it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen, so I'll extend some grace.Disappointing but i'm not gonna shyt on Al too bad when he's already put in a lot of work this year. We'll hear it when we hear it.

The only thing they got right was the tour. They’re fukking up this rollout process
I think it either has something to do with sample clearances or they’re tweaking some of the records based off the feedback from show performances. Hopefully it’s a short delay and we get the record soon
